34:50 The hormone cortisol is released in response to stress. Studies suggest that the high levels of cortisol from long-term stress can increase blood cholesterol, triglycerides, blood sugar, and blood pressure. These are common risk factors for heart disease. ... And, long-term stress can affect how the blood clots.

Am A MBBS student studied in 12th from you mam. According to Guyton and Sembulingam 34:50 In CVS it is required for proper functioning of Adrenaline thus maintaining BP. Also it increases Free fatty Acids and Cholesterol in blood leading to CAD. On kidney it acts like aldosterone and increases Na absorption and K excretion.
Ncert lines learning with such tricks is just SUPERBERB.... No chance of forgetting any term of Ncert bio...

Ma'am! High levels of cortisol (basically a steriod) increases the level of cholesterol (also a steroid) and triglycerides (a major component of fats) in our body which is harmful for our heart as their accumulation can lead to plaque formation. I hope u can update ur software now. 😊 I highly appreciate your teaching skills.

Cortisol is released in stress. And when cortisol level is high in blood then it increases blood cholesterol, triglyceride, blood sugar, blood pressure and also long term stress for releasing cortisol can effect our blood clot. And it has a important role in kidney. It increases GFR by increasing glomerular blood flow and increases phosphate excretion by decreasing the its reabsorption by proximal tubules. In excess cortisol has aldosterone like effect in kidney causing salt and water retention. Mam agar up yeah padhate ho to ak rep jarur karna yeah sehi h ki nhi h!? Plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

Administration of cortisol to normotensive healthy subjects over 5 days leads to elevation of blood pressure, particularly systolic and mean, but also diastolic pressure in some studies, in association with significant increase in cardiac output, but no change in calculated total peripheral resistance

Cortisol has permissive effect on other hormones ( catecholamines and glucagon) It mean cortisol accelerates the effect of CATECHOLAMINES HENCE EFFECT ON CVS !!! So When there is shock we give cortisol to cause VASOCONSTRICTION COZ IT ACCELERATES THE EFFECT OF CATECHOLAMINES :)
