Thank you for your feedback, I was recommended I undergo this procedure. Supposedly I was told, this procedure would take around 30mins max, and that after having procedure done I would be able to go about my business back to normal. Makes me be in doubt.

hey, thanks for the comments. I think last month was 3 years post surgery. No sciatic pain at all. sometimes my back itself gets a bit stiff if I am not exercising regularly. If I go a long time I'll get some sharp pain, but the solution that works every time is doing some core and glute exercises for like 10 minutes, and then I'm fine. I try to work out regularly to keep that from happening. The doctors had me wait 6-8 weeks before bending and twisting, at which point I was allowed to get into physical therapy and start really recovering. Started small with some body weight movements (chair squats, dead bugs, planks, single leg deadlifts) and swimming. I made sure I did one or the other for at least 30 minutes a day. after a couple months I was released back to the gym with new exercises, and finally having a good grip on what my form should look like. Now I strength train and have a number of sport and active hobbies that I do regularly. The first year I would still get some weird sensations. if I rode a bike, the bumpy ground would really mess with it. Now I don't notice it. I've heard that other people have different experiences, but that the main thing is the way you handle recovery afterward. I became a little obsessed with not getting back to where I was. I ended up losing 30 pounds and making my strength a priority. I hope you find some relief!

Hey man hope you're doing well. I'm about to embark on a Micro myself, scared shitless is probably the best way to put it. Not so much of the surgery itself, but whether the problem will resolve. How big was your herniation when going into operation? It's been 3+ years since you made this video, how is outlook on life now?

Hey, I'm doing great. The herniation was 2cm, which I'm told is pretty large, and several time the threshold for surgery. Prior to surgery the amount of pain I was in was debilitating, and I was barely able to work/drive/sit in a chair/sleep through the night. Immediately after waking up I could tell a difference in nerve pain, although I was really sore from the surgery itself. 3 years later and I'm great. I will say that I had a family member who did not follow the after care instructions or physical therapy, and his problems got worse and he became hooked on pain medication for the remainder of his life so my motivation to not have that happen was pretty high. I have continued some strength training, stretching, and mindfulness about how I use my back when lifting etc. I have pulled muscles back there 2-3 times since surgery, and I feel like I am slightly more susceptible to injury than before. I am a little more stiff in my back in the mornings, and it usually takes me 10 minutes of moving around to loosen up, but also I'm aging so who is to say? At this point I have no physical limitations. it did take a full year before vibrations like when riding a road bike stopped being irritating. I'm not really the same as before but it certainly hasn't been an issue. good luck!

@@christopherfedler8571 that’s all good news, man. 2cm is 20mm bludge, that’s fucking huge! I’ve got an 8mm and can only imagine what an extra 12mm would do to me. Thanks for the input.

Just had my l4/l5 done the other day, and it's amazing how much better I feel. The post surgery digestion issues are not pleasant though

@nilda del hi there. Definitely agree ,with surgery... I had another massive setback due to pain medication , had internal bleeding, ended up in ICU fighting for my life 😢, dnt take unnecessary pain medication. I was discharged from hospital today..... The operation is a no Brainer and if u R in pain, dnt hesitate. Research your doctor, although the world does not realize it , we have some world class surgeons in South Africa 👏. A massive shout out to Dr Amaaamba ( specialist surgeon) , Dr George ( Vascular Surgeon) Dr Sparaca (Gastric Surgeon) from Benoni South Africa 🇿🇦. You saved my life

Hey man, hope you're holding up. May I ask how big the herniation was when going into the first surgery? How did you know you re-herniated? Was it based off of feeling (same pain as b4)? Was it another MRI?
