This is the first time i hear that excessive technical perfection, leads to interpretative failure...where did you get that notion from? Everywhere else technical perfection leads to perfect interpretation, not the opposite. Regarding the "poor low register comment" i rest my case..maybe you need your hearing checked. No offence intended of course.

give me a better example, please. I have heard hundreds versions of this trying to find the best when I was studying singing. This one is so perfect I don't want ever try to perform this aria because I will never be as good as she is. I'd never achieve this level of the technique. I strongly disagree about 'cold' performance, had to listen it again just because of your comment. This is a concert version. Concert is about perfect technique and showing off the skills. The theatre performance would have been different, of course.
