A road trip on the North Shore of the St. Lawrence River in June is really interesting. We will take the time to stop at some really interesting campgrounds, but also at three boondocking or free camping spots with breathtaking landscapes. First stop at Le Cran campground in Parc national des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-rivière-Malbaie, then take the ferry at the mouth of the Sagenay River to access Tadoussac. Second stop, a very interesting campground, the Paradis Marin, well located between Tadoussac and Les Escoumins. Third stop, the Manic 2 campground, with a visit to the Manic 2 power plant. Fourth stop, the Manic 5 power plant, where we did free boondocking for one night. Stop number 5, the city of Baie-Comeau where we did more free boondocking in the heart of Baie-Comeau. For stop number 6, we stopped at the Port-Cartier-Sept-Iles Wildlife Reserve. For the seventh stop, we stopped in Sept-Îles to restock and enjoy some seafood. In Sept-Îles, the best place to get seafood is Poissonnerie Fortier. For the eighth stop, the municipal campground of Havre-Saint-Pierre was the perfect choice. You can still enjoy seafood at the Poissonnerie du Havre, it's really a must. For the ninth stop, it was the Natashquan campground where we left the trailer to go to the end of the road in Kegaska. On the way back, we discovered two really nice free boondocking spots by stopping in the village of Rivière-au-Tonnerre and Les Escoumins.
