An entire economy based on beauty icons, fashion, food, design, creativity. A country historically divided in two parts: the richer and more industrialized North and the rural, suggestive but poorer and backward South. Despite to several problems as burocracy, corruption, bad politicians, big crime, Italy is still included among the eight biggest economies of the world, without being able to count on colonies, great finance services (like USA and London) and own energy sources. The country with the highest number of UNESCO sites in the world. More than a country; a way of life...

Untrue. Italy got American money to rebuild its factories after the war. They are poor and in shambles resting on faded glory. Everything is just assembled in Italy not made there.

@@punkqueen5664 Italy is ranked 8th of the top 20 GDP's 2019 Italy is ranked 11th in the top 20 Strongest militaries in the world Italy is ranked 63rd for unemployment in the top 100 most prevalent unemployment statistics in the world, with Venezuela, Brazil, and France listed worse this is the world of the InterWeb. EVERYONE can look things up. So try that first, because everyone else will, and you'll show yourself an uninformed idiot. Now in regards to your comment about Italy receiving US funds after the 2nd world war? Italy was a member of the Axis powers, who LOST the war, as they were Allied with Germany. This is the break down of their reparations: - US$125 million to Yugoslavia - US$105 million to Greece - US$100 million to the Soviet Union - US$25 million to Ethiopia - US$5 million to Albania as determined by the Treaty of Peace with Italy in 1947 (Link: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Peace_with_Italy,_1947) Like I said... EVERYTHING can be searched and discovered. so maybe if you drop the chips off your shoulders, you'll have some time to learn a few things, and be better educated instead of being ignorrant.

@@punkqueen5664 I know. It was called "Marshall plan". But the greatness was in using that money to set some of the most iconic brands ever. Ferrari, for example, is more than a supercar brand. It's a legend, a myth. If you're enough lucky to own one, you belong to a "club". About history, culture and art there has never been competition. Almost everything was invented in Italy: the first global empire, universities, banks, law, reinassance, architecture and so on. We had mariner republics (Venice, Genoa, Pisa and Amalfi) ruled the seas when England was still an insignificant isle. We need to rediscover ourselves in order to restart of this recent decay, started with the financial crisis in 2008 and culminated with this horrible Covid. We lost a lots of factories and brands but we can reborn again because talent has been in our DNA since ever.

I own a house on Como and this is BY FAR the most beautiful and peaceful area in the world. I am originally from Iceland, now living and working in Switzerland, i have lived in beautiful other countries, such as Japan, France, Canada, Argentina, Russia, India, Portugal, Spain, but i must say nothing compares to Lake Como, not even Switzerland and Iceland in terms of beauty and sweetness of life. The only down side, and i know i am going to get some Italians pissed off, is the quality of the service, nothing really works in Italy and everything is always delayed or unavailable. Especially when you compare it to Switzerland or Japan where customer service is impeccable. But to make it up for it, Italians are among the nicest and most authentic people out there, the food is phenomenally good and don't even get me started on the gene pool. Italians have really hit the genetic jackpot when it comes to good looks, they are probably among the physically most attractive people. I would not say that i love all of Italy, i hate Milan for instance, i find it way to Rococo and superficial, it is all about money and appearances and lacks true taste and finesse, but Lake Como and Venezia are pure jewels. To anybody who is thinking about a trip to these places and have never been before, go right ahead, you will not be disappointed at all. And if you have time and can stand the herds of tourists, go to Firenze , just for the splendid architecture and since you are already in Tuscany, go to Sienna and Monticchiello, it doesn't get more picturesque than that. And if you are adventurous, definitely go to Alberobello and Bari.

I agree that most beautiful and delicious things are only found in italy. I saw any architectures from any countries and none are more beautiful than italy. I can cook pizza and neapolitan many times, but none of its ingredients could surprass the ingredients from italy, they are even rare to find, and i bet the wine is most rarest to find too.

I myself love CANALI & Zegna suits, with a dash of Prada, Ferragamo and Gucci but It’s not the cost, but the cut, it’s how they put themselves together daily… how they take time to live a fully rich and meaningful life…looking good while doing it . LA DOLCE VITA… to the best life.
