The modules for me are what I needed to see with the new edition. Some really great stuff added. (Also I like the makeover too) Thanks for the video!

Absolutely agreed. I think the base game is solid as it is, but the modules will keep giving me the reasons to dive in and try new ways to play.

Great game! I don't know if I need the deluxe version, but if you don't have the game: it's really great! I just wanted to add...and if Shira feels like she got her full say then I'm cool with that...but I really value Shira's opinion as well. I feel like at times, she had to do a hard interrupt to get her thoughts out. That could just be me. I know she is/was a bit under the weather too...but I just would really appreciate on these collaborations if Shira could get some more 'opinion' time, please! :D

The problem with La Granja is that there's really no "release valve" that delivers that transcendent relief or triumph that the best euros do.

Ode's designs (like Cooper Island) provide flexible levers to allow you to be able to pull off very satisfying conversions and transactions in order to provide the resources you are looking for. Especially considering the multi-use card mechanic, there are always going to be interesting means of accomplishing your desired contracts. If players are trying to find the "right card" to fit their strategy, I don't necessarily think that was the intent of this design. Instead, the designer is looking for you to find clever methods to acquire your desired resources. Even if you dont draft the die of interest, the fact that you can sell/purchase goods can ease the "tightness" that one may experience. I also believe that the game does have some healthy tension, in knowing when to tactically secure turn order to be able to deliver earlier vs later, as delivering later often rewards players much better for pushing off player chits for extra VP, and also preventing players from scoring end of round bonuses. Having players maintain their chits on the board is not something to simply forget, as you may be rewarding players nearly 4-6 VP per round. In the end, players will need to enjoy the puzzle and the constant gymnastics your brain will do while juggling multi-use cards in order to enjoy this design.

"More tight then fun"...I'm not sure that's a selling point for me. That said, I'm not sure I fully understand Jesse's comment. I mean, I know what the words mean, I just don't know if I've ever had that experience with a game. Maybe I have but just didn't recognized it as such. This Deluxe version does look pretty amazing. Modules add more stuff, but they still aren't going give you big shifts in gameplay the way expansions do, imo. I remain on the fence for now and will watch more reviews and game plays. Thanks for your opinion. It is always appreciated.

My biggest issue with Lorezno was graphic design. If they ever do an edition of it like this, I'd buy it again. But the right most card (I forget what they were) had a slash in them that made the prices look like an "OR" cost, rather than an "AND" cost. And no matter how many times I played, it would always throw me off. I'd try to take a turn, only for a player to say I can't do it because I don't have the resources and oh right that's an AND cost, not an OR cost, despite other cards no using lines to separate items for their AND cost elsewhere. I feel like Cranio continues to make these kinds of mistakes all over the place (Newton having the wrong symbols for the cheat sheet, barrage having really poor deluxe components, newton having the expansion cards printed with the wrong backs, etc)

@nathanielchambers89742 жыл бұрын
What is it about modules? I feel like realistically the seldom add much. Yet the allure of change for the better or of additional variety is such a strong pull. It's like a nice mystery, which often is spoiled when you figure it out. But sometimes it sticks the landing.

Is this the “La Granda” version? Looks huge
@BoardGameCo2 жыл бұрын
I don't believe so.
@TheSyn1cal2 жыл бұрын
During the intro you can see a square-sized box, thus it seems to be the normal version. That looks sizable (enough) indeed!
@kirapeavley2 жыл бұрын
It is not! The updated version is simply bigger to accommodate cards and components better. La Granda will be larger than this!

I think it's also a perspective thing just because the board is so close to the camera.

I'd rather have a game where you wish you had another turn way more than a game where I wish there was one less turn (which I think was a lot more common ~2014)

I'm not sure I agree with the 'tight' vs 'fun' dichotomy. Some people will find tight very fun. And some people will find power creep or those big swingy moments less fun. Of course, what's fun is fun, no doubt about that, your experience is your experience. But I think it might be better to say 'tight' vs 'powerful' or 'tight' vs 'open'. etc in the future.
