Excellent! Glad the influences of the Spanish era are getting revived. After all, it was a very big part of the Philippine culture, Love the flipping of the skirts thereby showing the purple lining. It might be more interesting to show different coloured linings since the outward part of the saya is uniformed black & white. Keep dancing! It is a healthy pastime for the mind and body. Good job!!! 👍🏼🥰

corazon escueta This is not the ROFG (Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group). These are in-house dancers in Villa Escudero resort. It is easy to tell if a group is ROFG, they have a distinct posture only an ROFG can do. Like a signature.

True, the music sounds like it came from Gran Canaria. Jota, means jump but maybe when the Spanish arrived in the Philippines they were so tired and hot so they didn't bother to jump. The Spanish Jota looks more like the Irish river dance. In the Philippines it became more Flamenco with a lot of foot tapping.

@impinai79 The Bayanihan DanceTroupe is too selfish to let their jota manilena be viewed by the public. Are they afraid to be copied? If so, they should be happy and be proud for that! Because they will serve as the teachers for those who want to know and learn different cultural dances and also the right steps, movements etc.The Bayanihan Dance Troupe is world reknowned! Institution! Why afraid? Anyway thanks to the one who gave the information.
