La Malinche o Matlalcueye como la llamaban los antigüos tlaxcaltecas, que significa "La Dueña de la Falda Verde". Es un volcan poco conocido debido a su proximidad con los volcanes más altos de México. Sin embargo, al visitar esta bella montaña, empezar la caminata en sus bosques frondosos y continuar hasta su cumbre, se puede observar porque los antigüos tlaxcaltecas la llamaban así.
