True. Outside of Hollywood/Beverly hills, L.A. is nothing like it is portrayed in all the films. Not glamorous at all, quite the contrary.

@@wiebkke absolutely, and it was old movies at that. In the 90s it looked cool, so I'm guessing a lot of us that grew up then stuck with that idea. I've visited many times and I'm always amazed at how different it looks to what I'm expecting. Especially like Venice beach and that.
