Beat Palenque easily after watching this, thank you 👍

Excellent showing, not that I'd expect less from you. I did not know that the whip hitbox could tap sakit on the nose like that in phase 2! That seems much safer than trying to land a jump above his elbow for this kind of challenge. Nice Skanda strats, I've never seen him be tripped so consistently. Katana Palenque is of course standard, but the accuracy of your movement's on another level. Interesting Umu Dabrutu loop, never seen that specific one before, and the damage before forcing him to switch sides is very cheeky.

Great job on the zu fight, I also beat him without the lamp but lost a lot of health. It still stings I locked myself out of the chain whip.

Do you have any advice for the 2nd form? It's hitbox is so wack. I'm struggling to beat it with a boosted axe and full health. I rarely make to the final phase before dying. I'm trying to get the no sub-weapons achievement.
@almar973811 ай бұрын
For Mother? Hit her torso. Jump and attack just as she starts to float down, like at 42:45 If she floats to one side, you can get behind and attack during the swooping move easily.

@@almar9738 Thanks. I managed to beat her before you replied. Her tail's hitbox legitimately makes it the hardest part of the fight.

Just saw the video now thinking about wouldn't the Chain Whip be faster for the Thousand Eyes at the end of endless corridors ? Just a thought

All the whips (and all sub-weapons) do reduced damage to Tai Sui, so I chose the axe for best range and damage.
@Nat_the_Chicken Жыл бұрын
Yeah, chain whip is a viable option, but it does specifically deal _reduced damage_ to Tai Sui, indicated by him turning blue instead of red. It also doesn't trigger him to actually attack you with his eyes, so beating him with an "alternate main weapon" (his weakness) also makes for a more impressive hitless showing (while possibly actually making the challenge easier because his eyes stop showering randomly out when he attacks).

Didn't know awakened key sword was that effective for the Mother fight. What if you used software combos boost? Would it still beat the chain whip?
@almar973811 ай бұрын
Awakened key sword and flail whip, which I think is what you meant, both do 10 damage when boosted. The key sword is slightly faster, while the whip has a backswing. Which is better depends on situation.

I think it also has something to do with not picking up that item that gives weapons an afterimage, something about it fucks up the DPS

I'm surprised you didn't go get Axe right away. Did you want to beat the earlier-game bosses with weaker weapons to make it more difficult and more impressive, or did you just not know about how to get it before fighting any bosses? Edit: also, since you didn't use any shield until Baphomet, I thought you were considering those to be "subweapons" and thus off-limits, or perhaps deciding that blocking a hit with the shield counted as "getting hit" and thus broke your "hitless" challenge. Maybe you just did things that way until you decided it was too frustrating and/or would take too much "getting lucky" rather than actual skill. (Baphomet is a good time to decide either of those things.) Edit 2: Oh you never got Flail Whip but then used empowered Key Sword? Yeah that has to have been a case of "didn't want to make things too easy, until I decide they're too hard/annoying"
@almar9738 Жыл бұрын
Sort of. I chose to grab certain items if I thought it was appropriate for certain points in progression, like something a blind player may have at that point. Sometimes I put things off until later based on preference, like the flail (yep, I did get it) and angel shield after Mushussu.

@@almar9738 Huh, interesting approach. Personally, I find later playthroughs much more fun if I try to see how early I can get items, and/or assign some interesting restriction/challenge that forces me to get creative. For instance, how much of the game can I finish without collecting the Grail (surprisingly, almost all of it), or how far can I get before I'm forced to beat an ankh boss?

Cheater! Abuse of early version of the game with better hit boxes and slower bosses. That triple hit to Sakit is not an option any more and he pulls his hand way faster now, so no 8 hits in one go for you and you need to be closer to even hit him, that distance from your video does not work.
@almar97382 жыл бұрын
That's news to me. Do you happen to have any videos you can share to back up those claims?
@BoBalance2 жыл бұрын
@@almar9738 No. Problem is that i don't know what abilities you are using during those fights, because i fought every boss i unlocked immediately and i don't have chain whip for example like you do and i don't know if you have speed boost or hit box improvement as well if they exist. With Sakit for example, you ether do a high jump once, hit 3 times and that's it, or you do low jump hit 2 times each and run, but what you showed in your video is not an option. At least you should call it any% boss fights because you are not suppose to have all those mid or endgame weapons or abilities that you are using to fight like 2nd boss in the game.
@almar97382 жыл бұрын
@@BoBalance If you can't hit it as much as I do, then you are not timing your strikes correctly or you didn't buy Hermes' Boots (which allows you to get into position quickly) from the shop in MotG. You can get these items I use earlier, they are not even midgame.
