LA Rams Training Facility Drone Construction Update

The Rams are building a training complex in Woodland Hills, a neighborhood of Los Angeles in the southwest corner of the San Fernando Valley. The team will move to its new address later this year, initially working in modular trailers similar to the temporary complex they’ve occupied since 2016 in Thousand Oaks.

This land will also be the area of the permanent training facility. That office tower will come down to make way for it. Land has already been approved and entitled for a 10,000 seat stadium, residential, retail and dining.

What's immensely stupid (not the video) is that The Chargers new facility, is a stones throw from SoFi (which, we all know is the Rams house) and the Rams, will be practicing way the hell out there.

That land and facility is leased to the Chargers. In the end if means very little because its not theirs. The Rams own over 100 acres of property in Woodland Hills. They are primed to bring so much more to the community than just a practice field.

Have they checked the temperature in Woodland Hills? Hot, hot summers. Conveniently located to Kaiser emergency room, though. Are practices indoors or at night at least? The drive down to sofi won’t be a picnic, either. Maybe they couldn’t find enough expanse of available land elsewhere? Looks like some existing office buildings have been leveled to make way. Not sure which ones.

It’s actually a very smart idea because the Rams are trying to target the entire LA area spreading it from south of Los Angeles all the way to the north side. It’s quite genius actually because the facility in Woodland Hills is actually LA whereas El Segundo practice facility is not

Mall, movie theater, winter ice rink, restaurants, etc. all gone. Hopefully Rams design team comes up with something beyond bland boxes. Glad to see this underused part of SFV put to work; however, thought it would end up as more new housing / condos. Wonder what will be the impact on the surrounding area now that the new facility is being built and what type of neighbors the Rams will be? PS - thanks for making this video!

Rams CEO Kevin Demoff indicated that they will be adopting the entitlements from a previous plan and will be bringing Hollywood Park to Woodland Hills.

The Promenade was a dead mall. Basically there was more than enough new retail space at Topanga and The Village. The movie theater basically relocated to Topanga. There weren't many restaurants left. If you want to eat, go up the street to Topanga Social. A couple dozen new places.

It's a fantastic location when considering: 1) Great housing for the players, coaches, and support staff. Many family-friendly areas close by. Look at a map, fellas 2) i would think there is going to be an indoor practice field for hot days, with turf like SOFI. 3) Last, but not least, it's been mentioned many times in the media that Stan has a place on Billionaires row in Malibu. Short drive over the hill for the guy paying the bills.

Suggestion: John , fly the drone from Top of Topanga Outlook. Might be great content to add to your next update. Google Earth has some fantastic pics of the Warner Center from that location. Actual Rams, the animals wouldn't mind roaming around in those hills. Lol

Be patient. So much more is coming. This is still a temporary facility. Rams have well over 100 acres to play with. Theyre are replicating something very similar to the Star in Frisco, TX. Chargers did nothing… that land and building is leased to them.

Those August training camps get awfully hot at Cal Lutheran and will remain so in Woodland Hills. Cooler breezes for the Chargers in El Segundo. Traffic is always a bear in that neighborhood but the Rams facility will hopefully be a pleasant looking addition.

@@Ktaurus26 the Chargers were leased that tiny 14 acre land and building lol. They didnt really do anything. It still baffles my mind how they are so reluctant to laying down permanent roots in LA. Stan Kroenke is a billionaire with projects in Hollywood Park, Denver, San Diego and Los Angeles. With over 100 acres of land the Rams are setting themselves up for a bright future not inly for the team but also the community.

The only 2 restaurants open at the Promenade Mall is Maggiano’s and PF Changs. I heard once their lease expires the Rams will start the initial phase of demolition and go from there. Priority was to get this practice facility ready for this season.
