La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer

La Roche Posay really does have some pretty solid moisturizers, from what I've tried so far. I was thinking that this is going to be a thick, heavy cream and be better for dry skin because of the name. But this is actually a pretty lightweight moisturizer. It's almost like a gel cream or lotion, and still quite nourishing on the skin.

It is a pretty simple formula with the addition of niacinamide and ceramides. Those seem to be a staple in most La Roche Posay products. There are no added fragrance or essential oils. If you are looking for something that can be mildly soothing and simple in an effort to avoid possible irritation in combination with other products on sensitive skin, this is a good option.

This can work for a wide range of skin types. But if you have oily skin and want a matte finish, you might wanna try out their Double Repair Matte Moisturizer, because you might end up liking that one even more.

I wanna buy it but$20+ for such a tiny bottle feels like a ripoff 😢

It’s veryyyy concentrated. If you factor in the difference between a cheaper product that’s prewatered down with more filler ingredients it makes more sense. The same happens with shampoos. The 8 oz shampoo and conditioners. I have from Pureology have lasted 7 months while the Maui Moisture with same amount would only last me 3 months before I switched products. The big trick is getting product on wet hands before applying to hair or face and emulsifying it between your hands into almost a lather (even with conditioner, it’s not really a lather, but the texture lightens and spreads better) If you do get this specific to try, I highly recommend doing it only after washing face or with dampened skin. A little goes a long ways. With damp hands, use a pea sized amount or less to start with-you can always add a bit more if needed but I rarely ever do-rubbing between your hands so it mixes into a more light texture and spreads evenly over hands. It’s more effective that way for sealing in moisture and it lasts longer too since I tend to need less of the product compared to others to feel like my face is properly moisturized.
