Hi, thanks for your kind words. I'm based in Lyon now and will stay for as long as I can. I don't think I'll be in La Rumba again but they're still going with different line ups, doing the same music, so you can see them still, and there's more videos popping up on youtube of the new band. I was just in Brisbane and played a few shows in January so you just missed out. Although it was on electric guitar :) Cheers Take care

Ok very cool. I think you should learn whatever you want. If you feel like playing with fingers, do that, do both, do it all ;) Just find a good teacher to push you in the right direction and get the technique sorted out. Enjoy the ride

I have a few videos on my channel about learning rumba, and also reggae. If you go through these you should be able to play the rhythm that he is doing in this song. Let me know how you go ;) Cheers

@@muhammadbulushi5772There are a few variations that I have taught in my videos, but maybe not this exact strumming pattern that michael is doing here, but close. One of the important parts is getting a heavy down strum and golpe on the 1 and the "chk" noise on beat 4.

Ok, it's funny because i have another student online and he loves this song too. It's a bit difficult to do online lessons at the moment because I'm in Brisbane with my family and will be back home in France in Feb. Are you interested in continuing lessons after this song or it's just a one off lesson? Also, it's pretty tricky ad involves a lot of technique. If you're a beginner or even an intermediate player it'll take a little while to learn if you haven't done too much of this style before. Let me know what you want to do. Cheers and Happy new year

Also, there's a lot of improvisation in this song and i rarely play it the same way. have a look at other versions on the net to see what changes. It's based on 2 different melodies and then it's improvised.

Maybe they are better players than them, and did not appreciate the flaws or lack of originality. I personally liked the music, but they are definitely not virtuosos. It's basic rumba with knowledge of technique. Not everyone will go crazy over this like you do.
