Gisteren in Taipei het optreden van Lais gezien. Wow!! Die 3 vrouwen zijn geweldig! Hun stemmen zijn elk op zich al fantastisch, maar als ze samen zingen gaan je haartjes recht in je nek staan! Bravo!!

@skadivar8 жыл бұрын
+jos catro It's Flemish, a variant of Dutch spoken in the Flanders region of Belgium. For more info, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flemish

Technically, modern-day Dutch is a variant of Flemish, which sounds more like the original (medieval) Dutch originally spoken in both countries. :) "And now you know..."

For me it's good to know, that Flemish pronounciation is more original than Dutch, that first sounds moooooore better. But one suggestion - to not mix it up it's better use name Netherlands language (originally Nederelandse, if I'm not wrong, am I?), then Dutch and Flemish can be describes as variants of Netherlands.

Both modern-day Dutch and Flemish (also referred to as Southern Dutch or Belgian Dutch, althouh I don't think that really honors the Flemish language) stem from Old Dutch / Middle Dutch. You're right in saying that "Nederlands" (suppose Netherlandish would be a direct translation) more reflects the language for what it really is. As far as I know the English referred to the Dutch language as being Dutch, where it was also one language with Germany ("Deutsch"), namely Western Germanic or Low Franconian. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_language#Origins this is a really good article. Another fun fact, while I'm at it: up north they speak Frysian. Along the Frysian coast, they speak a dialect of Frysian, which the Danish can understand. I think it's great to see the origins are still there and our culture is not yet lost upon us.
