My 4th grade teacher showed my class this song (I went to a bilingual school and most of the kids had immigrant parents). I didn’t really understand it. But my dad got deported about 6 months ago on his way to work. And this song makes me think of him so much. It hasn’t been long, but it’s had knowing that I probably won’t see him for 10 years because my family doesn’t have the money. And he’ll be missing my Quinceanerax

This song makes me feel sad and because almost all of my family are mexican and don’t have papers they can easily get cought and get sent back to Mexico and I don’t want that to happen and I’m 11 yrs old but the president thinks that all Mexicans bring drugs but not all of them bring drugs to the USA and i hat worrying every day that my family will get taken away and when i go to school all i can think of are my family getting taken back and it’s hard for us people as Mexicans because families get taken away and then kids get all left alone😕😢😢😢i just hope that nobody in my family gets taken away by the government and sometimes people at school talk about the government and stuff and saying stuff like they want us Mexicans to be taken away and that makes me real sad I just wanted to say this so all the people out there can understand how we feel❤️

I knw how this feels, I was deported back in 2010, And im still struggleing to adjust to being in Mexico. I grew up in the USA with my family, I am all alone here and this video got to me big time. I wish I could go back but without papers we mexican cannot make enough money for anything, especially for a lawer to try to fix our immigration status. Americans say that we take their job but in realitywe are making them more money. The americans are the ones driving the really nice cars, and having the ncie homes and sending their children to nice school, compare all that to the illegals who live in or around the proejcts where their is danger of all sorts and where we find it really difficult to make something better of our selves, but we still try and we will never give up, I knw that we are many and that we are not all bad, some are just like there many american who are. I just hope and pray to GOD that some day soon they stop deporting innocent and good good people. Take my case for example, a completelly blind mother, a father whom was in a work accident and 2 little brothe rbut yet I was trying to finish high school and work at the same time. I never broke the law or did anything bad to anyone and yet I still got deported. Now i am stuck in mexico while my family which includes my girlfirned and baby are still in the united states. I hope that soon they approve the immigration reform. I miss them so much. I love them.

Joe Dady We'll there has not been a safe way for the working poor to apply for legal status since Reagan's immigration reform 1986. The other forms would be to marry a U.S. citizen or have a family sponsor. Some people don't have those opportunities. My opinion is that It's sad that people have to cross borders to places where they are unwelcomed and used for cheap labor. Immigration is a bigger issue than what you and I have observed as individuals.

I don't know why people are such haters, look back a few generations and see where your families came from. They made that voyage across the Atlantic looking for a better life because they were hungry, dirt poor and uneducated. What makes us so high and mighty and judgmental of people and cultures who are looking for the same opportunities our dirt poor families were looking for back then. Seriously live and let live.

MrLibertad2012 Generations ago, people did not come here legally. And just look at the situation, this is a human issue. It breaks families apart. Could you imagine never being able to see your family members again and being dropped off in a country that is foreign to you, simply because of the place you were born? The place you were born is pure LUCK. You could just as easily be in the same situation, and I know migrants who would welcome you, rather than shut you out, as you are doing to them.

I was played this song at an event and it had me in tears. The message is deep and sad. It has moved me and has ignited a fire in me that I can't seem to contain. I desire to learn more about what is going on with the undocumented community and how I can do my part to educate myself more in order to be as much help as possible. Not one more deportation! Not one more family separated! Especially for those who are here working hard and keeping out of problems! May God guide me and may he help us elect officials that will resist deportation!

People will say what they want about this song but the truth is that it has become an anthem for me at my current job. The issue is bittersweet and a lot more complicated than a song or video can portray but I am glad and grateful that this song exists to share the stories and realities that many live even if some choose to not believe them or deny them. A human is a human regardless of where they are from and should be treated as such. Even on the KZbin comments, it's disheartening to see people's ignorance and apathy for the issue but nonetheless I will keep helping through my job those dignified people that need it and this song will forever be part of my soundtrack.

I've heard so many people say "They should get their immigration papers like 'everyone' else!" Here is the problem. At this point very few people from Mexico can get a working visa in the US. Only people with advanced degrees in areas that are lacking US workers are being admitted. Big tech companies are hiring from Asia and sponsoring those workers, which eases the immigration process. If you have that kind of training in Mexico, then you would most likely stay in Mexico. If you are poor and with a limited education, then it would be virtually impossible for a person to get a work visa. Yet the US government & business owners know that their labor is very much needed, but if workers are brought over with visas, then they would be entitled to better wages, humane work conditions and health care. Companies don't want that.

Responsability of what? The people in this land as in the US work hard every day, but look the entire world now, we depend of the oil and the represion of the US over Mexico have lead to the goverments of my country to didnt build refineries, all that causes a entire inflation over the economy that in addition to the TLC don`t let us grow, causes deemployement, makes more poors and that take us to the inmigration problem. If after this you keep thinking "that`s pure bullshith" I suggest you that investigate of Lazaro Cardenas and the expropiation of Oil in Mexico, and look who was the principal opositor. And i prefer someone that go to jail for hunger and not the criminals that sell weapons to the drug traffickers

Here in America (the continent, because it is a continent from Canada to Argentina, dear United State Citizens), we all value the corage and valentía of those who fight for a better future and over all for JUSTICE, as Justice is not only based on law (a human made law, a privileged-minority made law) but based on human ideals. ¡Felicidades!

MrLibertad2012 no seas ridiculo. I don't think so honey! Migration has always existed since the beginning of humanity. Our people migrated up and down all the Americas for thousands of years and now within a couple hundred yrs Europeans come down build a fence, kill our people, take over our lands, separate our families, and to top it off to this day not even our traditions are respected. I work at a university in Ontario Canada . I'd estimate about 20 to 30 % of the students who go there are foreign . I hear many different languages spoken every day . There are also some challenged people who can't speak at all who go there . There are some who can't see and some who can't walk . I am not offended by any of them . I thank my ancestors for not settling in the U S of A .

In my teaching, I've seen Kinder, and First grade students clinging to their parents, crying, afraid that someone will come take them away. Older students, have asked me if they could take their clothes, and their toys with them, or who of their family could stay, and who would be taken. It causes me great sadness to see, and to hear of the fears of children, of having their families torn apart.

My Mother's family came here from Puerto Rico. and my grand father worked three jobs in order to support his kids and wife. He also brought over other family members. He served this country in the US army during World War 2 and was a proud patriot and a proud hispanic. So yes, I know how hard immigrants have it. Do yourself a favor and quit trying to play the victim card here. thanks,

It's sad it really is but honestly someone who has papers is fighting for the same dreams. I had to fight for classes at college. Some who didn't have papers got them at times. It's not fair. But life is unfair. Everyone is fighting for their dreams. Good luck.

This is so sad, I'm Mexican myself trying to become something in this great big world. Many Mexicans today live in fear, why? Why can't we all live in peace and unity? Why do we make differences amongst each other? We are all people, we all have a heart, we all have a brain, and we all have feelings. If we have all of this common, why is it that we can't all be equal? The only reason Mexicans or Central Americans come here is to work and give their children better life and a better education. They do all the hard and arduous work for a small amount of money. And yet, parts of society hates them, why? These people are the voice of all the immigrants that live in fear. Thank you, gracias #not1more #no1mas

First of all I think America was founded upon immigrants and I'm not just saying the ones today but the first immigrants that came here and as far as I know the original natives of America never asked "you have a visa? Because if not you'll be deported back to your country" no instead they helped them and because of that this country is what it is today. Because of immigrants all around the world that bring their ideas, and hard work here. People that were born here are lucky to be born in such wonderful safe country but some of us were not so lucky and want something safer for our family. I'm sure that if Americans go to this other countries they are not mistreated neither deported. They are welcome in fact. By the way if you didn't know if the immigrant reform was approved it would bring to the economy about $ 1.4 trillion so please think and respect others who are not as lucky as we are to be living here. Thank you! God bless you all!!
