I have the same one mine was bought new-old-stock it had been in a big basement of a former gramophone dealer it probably was a reject because at places on the case the covering is wrinkled not by age but by being applied badly probably it was meant to be sent back to HMV but you sent rejects and broken-down machines in bulk I guess they either 1 never got around to it or 2 they were lazy ''eh, the basement is f###ing big so just dump it in there!'' having seen the size of that basement I would say it was probably option no2 the cool thing is that it's pretty certain that I am the first owner which is pretty weird for a machine that's nearly a century old.
