What you are talking about is a stereotype because of the projection of Indian movie industries (bollywood if not official and we have 20+ movie industry based on different languages here) in the west by the media there (and maybe its intentional). There are some changes but plot is basically same. Also another great movie, Haider is also adapted from another great play by Shakespeare "Hamlet".

This song revolves around the story of the pair of star crossed lovers they are fell in love when they are suppose to be enemy..
