Soldering an 0402 chip component using two different methods.
Here's the reference material I used for the procedures:

This video was a test of the A/V pipeline for my new lab so expect production and image quality to improve over the next few uploads.
This was my first time soldering under a microscope while recording, and it was a bit tricky because my scope disables the left eyepiece when the camera is active so I lost depth perception and my dominant eye.
I probably could have got better results using my other spool of solder that's a bit skinnier. The board was also a random scrap PCB that's several years old so there was likely some residue on the surface that required extra flux to make a good joint.

Looks good - but audio is a bit quiet (compared to other videos on youtube).

I normalized the max amplitude to -3 dB. Should I go for 0 or -1 next time? Or add some dynamic range compression?

@@AndrewZonenberg I'd push it to 0dB and see (OK, hear...) what its like.

It's www.microscopenet.com/omax-7x45x-trinocular-zoom-stereo-microscope-single-boom-stand-with-144led-ring-light-p-11643.html or similar. There's a handful of Chinese companies making very similar scopes under a bazillion brands. Going with a fairly cheap scope is OK for this kind of work as long as it's optical (not webcam based) since you want low latency and full stereo. Zoom is highly recommended but you can probably get by OK with fixed 10x or something. Cheap optics are definitely inferior to nice ones at high power(I have a side by side comparison of 100x and 400x Amscope vs Olympus systems side by side on the same sample and the difference is striking), but at
