Lab #5: Comparison of oscilloscope probes

In this video I demonstrate five different oscilloscope probes with widely varying architectures, price, and performance. I compare performance of the probes on a 1.25 Gbps serial data stream, examining both fidelity of the observed waveform as seen by the scope, and loading of the probe on the DUT.
* Teledyne LeCroy PP023 ($325, 10M ohm 500 MHz R-C divider probe)
* Pico TA061 ($319, 500 ohm 1.5 GHz transmission line probe)
* Teledyne LeCroy ZS1500 ($2049, 1M ohm 1.5 GHz active probe)
* Pico PicoConnect 921 ($1005, 515 ohm 6 GHz transmission line probe)
* Teledyne LeCroy D400A-AT ($3475 used, $CALL_FOR_PRICE new, 4K ohm 4 GHz active differential probe)

You have all that expensive equipment. Why not invest in a decent microphone for us to listen to. Can't listen to the rest. Sorry

I've been working on improving the sound setup for a while. Check out some of my most recent videos and you should find it's greatly improved. The high ambient noise level in the lab makes recording there a bit of a challenge. I may re-record some of my older content at some point with better sound quality once I'm satisfied with things.
