This is awesome! I love the parallelism shown between Doug and Chell, and I love the "blue-orange" thing with their faces at the end. It makes sense because Chell is darker with blue eyes while Doug is white with brown eyes. The only thing is, why does Doug have a chest wound? The way it's drawn looks like he has a boob hanging out of his shirt, and in the comic he was shot in the leg not the chest.

This is pretty good. I like how you compare the characters, Rattmann and Chell, GLaDOS and Wheatley. The only compliant I might have is that I think Rattmann was shot in the leg, not the side.

Also, while this is admittedly a much more minor nitpick, it still always bothers me when people miss this - I don't know what eye color Chell has, but Rattmann _definitely_ has blue eyes.

I loved this. the tone works really well with the paint tool SAI pictures and it accurately represents some of the feelings you have while playing Portal. I hope to see similar content like this in the future. :)

@SydneySkittlez last time I checked, this was a music video contest held by Valve (makers of Portal & Portal 2) not The National, and because of that fact... Valve had a panel of people be the judge of this video contest, while The National just wanted to give a prize, so that means they are the sponsors. And two if the creators of the game held the contest, it just makes enough sense to make a music video connecting to the product, which in this case is the Portal series.

@penguinprotector2 'played portal 2? its Doug Ratmann, or Ratman, a scientest who lived after GLaDOS filled the facility with neurotoxin. He has a companion cube on his back, running. In portal 2 and portal, you can find scribblings on walls and hidden rooms. He claims the companion cube speaks. That's because he's low on meds.

BEAUTIFUL! That's about all I can say regarding the artwork in the video. Could you please release hi-res versions of some of the art in the video, I would love to use them as desktop backgrounds. You should even see if you can raise support on the forums and get valve to make some of your work official Steam avatars, I think the clock, weighted companion cube, and Wheatley would be especially good.

There's a few clips of unused audio from protal 2, where Caroline breaks down in tears, shouting at Cave that she doesn't want to be put into the GLaDos body. perhaps the anger that kept appearing when GLaDos was first activated was that of Caroline protesting to being betrayed by the one she loved (similar to how Chell was betrayed by Wheatly.) Over time, Caroline Forgot what she was fighting for and started testing those that trapped her in her new body.

@MaxXimumPain when you are in the elavator and when a door opens and the turrets aim at you then you go up and on the next window or whatever you see a companion cube. I think it's the Rattmann not a flying cube or something.

No. The point of the video was a music video contest run by Valve for Portal 2. While the rules didn't necessarily state that it was a requirement, it was preferred to base the video off of the Portal comic "Lab Rat" explaining the story of Doug Rattman. And this song is actually about Portal 2. It was written by The National exclusively for Portal 2.

He put Chell at the top of the testing list after hacking into the files room because itsaid tat she'sdeterminnd never gives up. He knew she would destroy GLaDOS. Hmm, very nice, I liked the digital art work quite a bit, my only issue with this really is some of the animation is too jumpy, as well as some of the fades, if they had been smoothed, more frames added to the animations, then this would of gone from good to great for me. :)

Also portal belongs to Half Life universe, so we dont know if Chell will actually find someone alive because action of Portal 2 takes after Half Life 2 Episode 3. So i think that both Humans and Combine lost that battle (the one that will be in ep3) or eventually something will happen on Borealis. Also - did you know that borealis was time travel experiment?

Cave is not Chell's dad, there is a make your own POTaTOS kit online, it has extra text from the script writers and it talks references dad as a scientist working for cave. I fear that Rattman must be dead :(, the last audio track for the rattmans final transmission is titled 'the ghost of rattman', and besides, once he had made it to the moon he wouldn't have been able to get back to earth
