Laban 325 Sun Fountain Pen Unboxing and Writing Sample

I bought a similar model , the Laban Cambridge, a month back, the ivory white and black resin edition. It's really an awesome pen. Writes very good. One of the best steel nib pens ever ; writing experience is comparable to the Diplomat aero. N.B. Bought Laban Torado along with Cambridge. It has now become my EDC along with custom 74 and diplomat aero.

I purchased a Laban Mento just to try it out due largely to the favourable reviews it has received. The last time I looked at my collection of 160 fountain pens I realised that I now have five Mentos, two Kaisers, a Cambridge and a 325 in the Sun finish due in from you next week. Labans are seriously great pens with a build quality that meets or exceeds any other pen brand out there. Easily one of the most trouble-free out of the box brands I have experienced, and I have more than my share of Pelikans, Montblancs, Parker Duofolds and Viscontis. Thank you for a great review. My belated sympathies to Mr. Blanchard's family. He loved Laban pens so he must have been a pretty smart man. Cheers, Steve

Is the Cambridge the same pen? Also is there a flex nib that is offered with this pen or the Cambridge? I'm confused over the 325 and the Cambridge model. Thank you.

Hi. This is one of the few videos or writeups featuring a fine nib. People usually seem to go for the medium or the broad. How does the line width of this "F" nib compare with that of a Pilot Metropolitan "M", TWSBI Diamond 580AL "F", or Faber-Castell Essentio/Loom "F"? Thanks.

Thanks for your question. The nibs on the Laban 325 are made by Jowo, so it would most closely resemble the line width of the TWSBI fine.

How are the nib sizes for this pen? Japanese nibs are finer than western and from what I've heard narwhal pens are thicker so a fine nib would actually be like a medium western.

The Laban 325 uses Jowo German stainless steel nibs. They are a typical European line width, which is to say, thicker than Japanese widths.
