Great Video 👍👍. I recommend that you use self amalgamating tape on your connections rather than the PVC electrical tape. PVC tape is ok for cable insulation but does not guarantee a water proof connection. The self amalgamating rubber tape will seal to a water proof state and eventually amalgamate into a solid rubber covering which is most waterproof. If you wish you could further protect the amalgamating tape from UV exposure by covering with your PVC tape. 73 de GI8WFA.

Nice setup. Thanks for helping me this past spring with getting my Yaesu FTM-100DR on the Wires-X PDN mode with all the firmware updates. I have shared that video with a lot of other hams. Your videos are very detailed. I just got into Ham radio this year and I am broke. A very fascinating craft.

Hi there, I noticed one problem with your installation... The instructions state that you should keep those coax coils to the switch separated by at least 2 inches. That is to prevent the possibility of cross-coupling & noise. Hope this helps, 73 - John

Hello, Brent (KI5HXM) here from Texas. Do you still like the RCS-4? I have looked at some remote switches and this seems to be what I would like. How does it handle bad weather? What is the current draw on holding the relay’s? All the best, 73 de KI5HXM

Looks good for tower use. Wondering how good for multiple dipoles and loops around the lot. Phasing harnesses etc. I’ll have a yard full of coax coming to this remote. Haha. I’m afraid to put tower near electric lines

Hi Glock, with the modification shown in the video you ensure that all antenna are ground when not in use, this prevent RF to be pick up while using another antenna. My tower is 33 ft from the power line, yes you have to be careful. 73 Pascal VA2PV

Great video! I have used this remote switch for several years, problem free. As you mentioned, it is a very nice, high quality remote coax switch. Thanks too for the tip on adding electrical tape to connectors?

Thanks for the video.I have been wanting to install one of these switches at my shack.I want to run my coax to the switch under ground. I want to mount the relay switch to a large tree and run my coax from my wire antennas down the tree to the switch.this will look better then all the coax runs hanging in the air and coming into my house.Wonder if I can get the remote cable that can be buried?

Hello, I have followed your channel for a couple of years. I used some of your videos to help me with ideas for my shack. I’m a new Tech & General licensed ham as of Jan 2020 and have slowly been building my shack. I am interested in coax switches for HF mainly and use dedicated lines for VHF/UHF because I will have scanners or other radios on those frequencies. One question on CAT5 cable. Is the current carrying signal for the switch control low enough for CAT5? Usually that cable is 24 or 26 gauge wire. Thanks for another video. All the best, 73 de KI5HXM

Hi Pascal, I have some concerns about this box, are you sure that the control cable isn't picking up RF power from your TX antenna and sending it back into your shack via the control box please? Your advise is more then welcome:) 73 - Pascal

@@Laboenligne Thanks, I did look into your video about installing switches, very instructive indeed! The only concern I have is possibly coupling RF back into the shack via the control cable of the remote switch (it's just a couple of simple wires, perfect antennas:). It could bring RF interference into the shack, maybe into microphone cables or unshielded SDR's as the SDR1A. I am hesitating about installing this remote coax switch just because of this. It all depends of course of the way everything is installed and in your case how much the control cable is actually picking up HF sent from the top of your tower, I can't tell of course. I have a couple of end-fed wired hanging around at low altitudes and a cushcraft R9 4meters above ground level, so this could be a bit dangerous I think. What is your opinion? Best 73 from Belgium, Pascal Keep up posting!

@@pascalmestdagh5074 Hi Pascal, I have no RF problem on any band using with this switch. Please make sure you do the modification I did to put all unused ports to ground. For the wire, I used a double shielded rotator cable, it did the job. I also have a very good ground for my station. 73 Pascal VA2PV
