The federal ALP government are carrying on like everyone's home mortgage repayments is the only thing that have gone up in cost ... an interest rate cut will be will be welcomed. but it falls a long way short of the increased cost that have risen across the board... Utilities Bills - insurance cost - fuel cost - food cost - house rental cost - in fact it's difficult to find anything that everyday citizens must purchase in their daily life that has not risen in cost . The ALP government have failed Australia on so many ways I could go on here writing for an hour ... The voters in the coming federal election will not make their decision based on a mortgage rate cut alone .

So how keen were the Libs. to lift interest rates coming into the last election? Pretty sure not in the slightest but if they had gone up harder and earlier, as the did in some other countries, then maybe the inflation would have been controlled more quickly, as in some other countries. @jamesgreig51689 сағат бұрын
Import tariffs might cause inflation in some sectors, but the sectors hurting Australia are bank loan interest rates, costs of rates, insurance, power and general services. Tariffs should not affect that, but good policy could and should reduce food prices and those areas mentioned. Inadvertently, Tariffs might kick start our production in some sectors.
