Years ago, my son and I traversed the continent in his truck, 5 days in all, and binged on Tim Keller sermons. It was the first time I’d been introduced to Tim’s preaching, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Such good, solid teaching.

Sadly, I didn't learn of this great teacher until the occasion of his death. I read an article written by David Brooke. His torching words about Rev. Tim Keller made me want to find out more. I am so grateful for these videos and teachings. May the Lord bless Rev. Tim's soul and the continuation of his work on Earth.

What I learned: - every believer is a minister of the gospel - pray and do my part. Trust God and being responsible aren’t contradictory - there will be persecution when doing God’s work. The shame won’t last.

Having met his wife, I could soooo see her giving a high five to John Piper!!!! She is a very sweet lady. I met her at a Veritas Forum. I went to her and asked her for prayer, and she asked my name and said that she would pray for me. She also took the liberty to speak to me and my husband about the early parts of her marriage. Really kind, humble lady.

What I got from this, and I hope for it with my dearest hope, is that Jesus is like Nehemiah when Nehemiah wordlessly traveled around the city, noting every structure that was broken or destroyed, taking note of what would need to be done in order to repair the wall. I hope that Jesus is like Nehemiah in that Nehemiah delivered a vision of a restored Jerusalem, a restored wall, whether he was speaking to the people of God or their enemies, maintaining consistency of the vision whether he was speaking to insiders or outsiders, not varying for either crowd. I hope this because I am the broken down city wall with cracks, partially destroyed. I hope this because I hope Jesus considers my life, noting all that needs to be repaired for full restoration. And I hope this because even in my current state, I hope that Jesus communicates a vision for my life that is indeed full restoration, saying it both to the people of God and their enemies, the same message to both insiders and outsiders, purposing my full repair regardless of what my current state looks like. I hope this for you too.

Amen!!! In times such as these when sin abounds it is important to remember our God reigns!!!! Several times in recent years God has stepped through the portals of time and rescued us from demonic forces!!!! One such time was during the Vietnam War when people prayed and God intervened to rescue America and its Christian allies from demonic communism!!! The author of "Threads of Faithfulness" recounts the whole dramatic story!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed Tim's teaching. If I have any complaint about the videos (and I'm nit-picking)it is that the audio seems to be recorded on the low side, making it hard to follow when I'm working (plumbing & heating). Excellent stuff! Please keep it coming. God bless...

What does it mean when a church earns a reputation for coldness, for cold-heartedness, for status-idolatry, for stand-offishness? Does sound doctrine makeup fr not loving one's neighbor IN THE LEAST?

No Canaanites in Israel. No foreigners in the city of God. God's city is established where Christ resides. And he resides within me. Yet in my country I am an alien, not because of my status as a citizen, but because a guild attached a descriptive label to my name when I was 16 years of age, and since then I exist at the lowest caste of one of the richest nations in the world. Whoever assumes command of language in a society obtains perilous power, as do those who utilize symbolism and mysticism as well as spectacle and illusionism. Many saints in my country are persecuted the way I've been, inasmuch as they often don't even know themselves to be saints as yet., and many of them will never have the ability to comprehend such a complex ideation. But the Spirit with which they carry themselves is identical to that of those who deffer to the glory of Christ, and know of salvation by means of vicarious favor. And though they could not express this understanding verbally, their apprehension of it is unmistakable after only a brief period of association with any of them. In my culture, and in other wealthy countries, the most alienating descriptive term that can be applied to a human being is mental illness. The term creates a strict schism in society constituting two distinct kinds of beings - human beings, and mentally ill human beings. In the latter case, the initial qualifier serves invariably to invalidate the noun it modifies. There is no other historical set of people to which more erroneous prejudicial beliefs have been assigned, both popularly, and by so-called professionals in the field. And even the church ... and I daresay the shallowest and perhaps more often than is supposed, counterfeit part of the church in particular are among those who have levied the most profound and egregious accusations against us - many of us who are openly in Christ, and as I've said, many who of Christ are in spirit, but are incapable of expressing it. As I see it, in light of this discourse, the terms Canaanite and schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, clinical depression, autism spectrum, ADHD, etc. are synonyms. The aggregate talents of these people - these people of God, may be the hands that will rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. But I believe that the best of the wizards among them must go forth to defeat this legion of sorcerers who for too long and with subtle, patient influence have systematically corrupted our languages to increase the efficacy and potency of the evil spells they cast. They consort with spirits of deception, destruction, death, terror, shock, and every other emotion that serves as a means to manipulate their targets. And for them the end always justifies the means. I appreciate Tim Keller's lessons. Still, I suggest that the situation is more urgent and perhaps, dire, than his demeanor indicates. The world is still at war. It isn't a new conflict by any means. Mr. Keller is quite correct in his exposition of the paradox of God's sovereignty and human responsibility. I submit that at times people on a boat with much in common with the story of Paul and the people moving to the lifeboats were lost at sea, because they failed to heed the warnings of a person who knew what was happening. And while I'm not worried about time, I am concerned that the real hidden strata of our societies are ignored precisely because if they were revealed, then so too would the folly of many people who are deluded by promises of saviors - Christian or otherwise, that cannot redeem them since they continued to sin against the Holy Spirit with a presumption of grace. They will cry Lord! Lord! And he will say ... I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!

John, the countdown to the destruction of “our democracy” is upon us. If the Democrats loose, the nation will be held in a gestapo-like bondage, well, forever. We know that this is a vital concern to you. What we need is for you to apply your 1) knowledge of the Ancient Greek with 2) your ability to sniff out sins among pro life politicians to 3) come up with a list of prolife politicians that are simply too sinful to vote for. You know, the ones who are fatal to nations? Thanks.
