The National Debt has increased by severl billion since Labour came to power, debt is now 100% of GDP, the highest level ever. The 22 Billion debt has been created partially by Labour's caving into the excessive demands of their Union Paymasters. Pensioners will not be hundreds or thousands of pounds better off because the triple lock will not cover the 10% increase in energy prices, the anticipated huge increase in Council tax, increase in fuel tax and thus the huge increase in every item on the shop shelves. Never mind dozens of other taxes they are going to yank up. Labour consider pensioners are easy meat when it comes to punishments since they can't fight back. Labour are lying cowards.

My dad worked all his life, worked crappy jobs, and saved every spare penny. They haven't been on holiday for years, and their holidays were alway in this country in a rented caravan, they have never been abroad. They have gone without all their lives and saved for their future and their retirement. They have voted Labour all their lives, and he now struggles when he thinks he should have just blown all his money and enjoyed his life and basically be nothing more than a leach on benifits. They have vowed never to vote labour again, they are going to spend what little savings they have got so they can be benefit bums and have the state shell out a fortune on them, and why shouldn't they?, their reward for doing the right thing is to freeze while they see illigal immigrants warm living a free life in hotels with benifits they can only dream of, such as seeing doctors and dentists immediately, somthing they are denied. The price of energy has increased 30% from the winter of 2021/22. So there is an argument that rather than cutting the winter fuel allowance it should be increased by that increase making it closer to £400 to bring back to parity.
