Igbani, Robbins from Bayelsa; The Coordinating Minister of the economy does not seems to understand the macroeconomics dynamics of the country in terms of inflation and interest rate. How can you be increasing interest rate on month on month basis with the lame excuse that you are fighting inflation through hike in interest rate? The question is how many Nigerians, businessmen are still going to the bank to borrow to run their businesses with the monthly spike on interest rate. Does the Minister know that when you keep increasing interest rate, through the monthly MPR, don't you know that this will further lead to increase in existing loan obligations as this actions are stifling both individual as Nigerians by reducing their purchasing power and business loans. Therefore, the manufacturers through increase in cost of production as a result of the monthly increase in loan obligations will also pass the burden to Nigerians through increase in cost of production. The Minister should resign immediately because he doesn't seems to know what he is doing.

Let me advise. Sir, what we need to do is to simply ramp up food production. Federal government should work with states to acquire lands in the states and begin massive agric mechanization. It is an emergency. Number two, peg the Naira at 1500/ 1 USD. It should not be dancing at all, so investors can decide. Peg fuel price at 600 Naira per litre and AUDIT our consumption of fuel in Nigeria. Clean the 2024 budget and stop unnecessary expenses. Then the next 3 years will be good for the country.

I hope the current leadership of Labour has done their homework well and realized that the only way out of the current hardship is to agitate for an increase in the minimum wage and go on strike should the Government fail to dance to their drum beat. It is common knowledge that, once there is an increase in salaries - minimum wage or whatever is called - the prices of commodities tend to increase as well, rendering the whole exercise fruitless.
