Labrang Monastery Sissu Himachal Pradesh | Best Sunset Point in Sissu | Best View Point in Sissu

Sissu, also known as Khwaling, is a picturesque village located on the banks of Chandra River in Lahaul Valley. At an altitude of about 3200 m, and only 6 km away from the North end of the recently opened Atal Tunnel, Sissu attracts tourists all-year long. The village is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, glacial rivers, waterfalls, and roads lined with willow and poplar trees. With a population of just over 2000 people, Sissu is also the ideal location to get a glimpse of the daily lives and the Buddhist culture and architecture of Lahaul valley.
Labrang Gompa is located near Sissu in Labrang village. Being at a comparatively higher Altitude than Sissu, it is great vantage point to witness the valley with huge mountains all around.
You can reach here by road even though I hiked from Sissu. The hike is just a 30-45 uphill trudge via Jagdang village which then eventually meets the road. You can ask the locals Sissu and they will definitely show you the way.
I would recommend you to actually hike to the Gompa instead of coming by road. This way you can soak in the incredible vistas of Chandra valley.
Sissu forms a base and a gateway to 3 major destinations in the Himalayas - Ladakh, Lahaul and Spiti. As it is close to Manali, Sissu is also a popular day trip destination, even though Sissu deserves a stayback for a day or 2. Apart from exploring the scenic hamlet, Sissu is known for its various nature trails with stunning views over mountains and river valleys, fishing trips, trekking, camping, rock climbing and star hazing. Visitors can also take day trips to nearby destinations such as Keylong or further to Jispa.

A room would cost you around 2600 per night. And if you stay in a dorm, it would cost Rs.850 per person per night

Quality of the dorm is good. And if you go for the room, it can accommodate 2 people and 3rd for an additional bed cost
