The nomadic labyrinth It is said in the oldest of books and scrolls that a place of strange magicks linger, of lights and metal beyond my own understanding. Beyond the gods that we have known. This place some say hold the secrets of all and everything. Some say you can see the dawn before it ever rises. Some say this place is the beginning of all things. Others say it defies our gods. Others believe it does not exist at all. But i believe it exists. I've seen its lights, heard its roars, and felt its rumble. It is a terror that i can not comprehend, a beast of metal and magic. Unnatural. It's as if it is alive. I've seen it. I've seen doors on it that have people in them. But they are metal. Their eyes glow a strange yellow. I had a dream of it, its never ending halls and bright magical light. Its metal flesh and awful roar. I've seen it.

The Configuration, some called it; others, The Labyrinth. Ever since it had suddenly appeared off the coast of Clifden, shrouding the seas in an impenetrable fog and cutting Ireland off from the world at large, efforts had been made to study it or destroy it- all failing utterly. Some intrepid lass had discovered a kind of entryway among the bizarre tendrils that hung into the water, and since then the Defence Forces had organized exploration teams to breach the structure and look for a way to stop it. Nineteen teams had entered, along with uncountable numbers of exploration-minded citizens that the Naval Service hadn't caught, and none had returned or even been heard from since. Kieran watched the mysterious structure through the rain that had become ever-present since the Labyrinth's appearance. Something inside it tugged at him, as it had since the moment the thing had materialized; an impulse pulling at the core of his very being to go inside. He had no delusions of being a storybook hero, the chosen one destined to save the world, but with the situation becoming dire, what was left to lose? Either he would succeed where all others had failed, or he would simply become yet another of the disappeared. Either way, he'd get answers.
