Do Hyun Soo | His Story [Flower of Evil]

I love him so much. :,) I am very much aware that probably nobody will watch this super long edit but I made it mainly for myself to kind of make a character tribute for one of my all time favorite characters. :) - that I didn't even know existed like 2 weeks ago. I'm lowkey starting to hyperfixate on the show because I love it so much so I also started 3 other edits about it. I really need to start making more edits about ongoing dramas and not the ones that already ended months ago lmao.
To be honest I had no idea and no plan on how this edit would turn out and I actually was planning to just make it 2 min long lol. Apparently I didn't think about exactly HOW MUCH Hyun Soo suffered.
I know I wrote below my other Flower of Evil edit that I think he actually has Antisocial Personality Disorder, considering he has all the symptoms towards everyone BUT his wife, daughter and Sister.
But since then I watched the show another 2 times and I think it was just wishful thinking from my part, because I finally wanted to have a character with ASPD that isn't a serial killer. (Because that's the bad stigma around the disorder)
The show hinted that he got wrongly diagnosed with it because he lied about having killed a dog even though it was his dad who killed it, and because he showed aggressive behavior. (that just happened when someone touched his cassette tape player that his dead mum gifted him)
I read something about him probably having Alexithymia instead, which is a pretty good theory. You can read about it here: mydramalist.com/discussions/f...
Plus, he got raised by a psychopathic father that tried to mold him into himself + he got the diagnosis during the time his mum went missing (so he was already pretty vulnerable) and then everyone just kept on telling him that he has Antisocial Personality Disorder and is unable to feel certain emotions, so he started believing it himself and probably locked away his feelings and when he felt them, he got confused and didn't know what it was what he felt.
When Ji Won is saying that he must've loved his mother a lot, his response is that he got the diagnosis of ASPD and that they told him, he couldn't feel emotions like love. Then Ji Won proceeds to ask him why he held on his mum's cassette player so long and he seems confused and says that he doesn't understand either and that nobody ever explained to him why he acted that way.
I'm sorry that the part where he loses his memory seems rushed and pretty short but at that point I just really wanted to wrap up this edit since it was already wayyyy too long haha.
He deserves the world and more. :,)

Just like how my mom would always put me on pills as a kid for all these things like add, adhd, Asperger’s but all the meds did was make me fill sick and like puking. I used to get so pissed off and rebel to my mom by doing shit she didn’t like and cuss her out because she kept trying to force the pills on me.

I wish there was a scene of the villagers regretting what they did. They took an innocent child and abused him emotionally and mentally, making him think he’s evil and emotionless. He was a kid mourning the lost of his mother and they didn’t help embrace him but resented him for his father’s deeds. Why did they think only he’s like his father when there’s the sister too? They turned him into what he is but they also failed cuz deep down he was always normal, a human trying to just live. They caused all his tragic struggles.

I found him so pitiful during the first time I watched the drama, but after rewatching it a few times I realised how strong he was. How much he struggled, that he didn't have almost anyone on his side that knew the real him. And his character's growth is one of my favourites in the shows that I watched.

Flower Of Evil was just intense, so many twists & turns & in my personal opinion, it was one of the best series Lee Joon Gi has done to date! Showing how he can adapt or recalibrate himself to fit into any role & grow in to it. I actually watched this series one by one & here n there as opposed to a pyjama n slippers movie marathon. I suffer from uncontrollable panic attacks or extreme fears, i never showed it & would melt down when i was in my home n safe but later in life i had bleed throughs in front of people & was unable to predict when i'd collapse in fear. Imagine how the child in this series had to adapt to such trauma, wow, blows me away because somewhere in the world there are those Souls who are just surviving like his character "for real"... The brain protects the child, often splitting in to multiple personalities or blocking emotions to survive, putting emotion in brain files in a dusty room called life but eventually there will be bleed throughs, takes massive energy to hold that inside. I really related & hello, if you do an Edit, i watch it, i get it & i am respectful of your time & ability to represent a subject, don't sell yourself short. I'm thinking of that cheezy hair shampoo ad "because your worth it" LMAO but i cannot think of a better one. Love Your Craft, Peace 😄✌️

(spoilers ahead) Just finished this drama today, even tough the ending was happy & satisfying, I felt sad for some reason. DHS has been through SO much, Such a relief he has JW by his side. Ji woon is Hyunsu's answer. She made him feel loved. The way she trusted him & was always there whenever he needed her the most even after she knew who he is.. 😭😭 THE BEST DRAMA I'VE EVER WATCHED.

He remembered himself saying things like how he fooled his wife and never loved her, that's what was making him hate himself. It was only after he remembered more positive things - like their first date - and got assurances from their loved ones that he really did care for her, that he stopped hating himself and wanted to be with her again. Before that he was convinced he would let her down because what he remembered of himself was all negative and he knew the public were calling him a monster as well and saying that he had tricked her and used her. The more memories he regained the more he remembered how he loved his wife and daughter and trusted himself to be with them.

I didn't think i was going to comment on this as I watched from the shadows, but wow...Just...Wow every detail in this video is spot on and the way you blended not just the clips and the song, but the emotional roller coaster you just sent me on is breathtaking. I watched your video of the two of them before and I loved it, but I didn't have time to comment. This one? Similar, but it needed a comment, the scenes you chose and how you moved through not just his story but every side of his personal experiences and how they shaped him was just phenomenal! I love the scene choices, and the transition shots, from hands, looks, snow and rain just flowing with the beautiful puzzle that this man represents...I'm still lost in your video. One of your all time favorites, and it shows. Just, wow.

When I watched this drama last year, I saw a person that was wronged by everyone his entire life .Finally his wife and child give him love. I wanted him to have a happy ending because he so deserved it. Your video is long but that's OK. I could tell you really wanted us to understand Do Hyun Soo. I do say this every time, but you consistently pick the right music. If you like Lee Joon Gi, you may want to check out "2 Weeks".

And sometimes I even really adore a certain song and then while editing it somehow doesnt feel right. So I do think about the songs I'll use a lot. Although I dont think about if the lyrics would fit every time I edit, I put my focus more on if the overall feeling fits the couple or show I edit.😊💕 Yeah I felt so much pity for Hyun Soo while watching. :( He just wanted to live on his life with his family but his past continued to haunt him so he couldnt catch a break. He's a really strong character, and it's admirable how he, despite having been through so much, managed to be a loving husband and an incredible father. I am actually planning to watch some other projects by Joon Gi! I was really amazed by his acting skills and he seems like such a lovely goofball in real life. ☺

@@lacrima24 When I started watching Korean dramas, 2 actors became my favorites because of their acting skills - Lee Joon Gi & Lee Je Hoon. Joon Gi was the first Flower Boy in The King & The Clown. My God he was freaking beautiful. I know how important music is. It bypasses logic and connects to the soul. We live in a world the makes no sense and pushes correctness so far that it is stupid and meaningless. Like a always say, stay true to yourself - that's the right path.

His father was one creepy looking dude. The filmmakers did an incredible makeup job on him. He reeked of evil. 😱 He was very convincing in that role. I am afraid that actor will find it hard to be cast as a regular human… On the other hand, I will gladly watch Li Joon-gi, anytime, anywhere. ❤

You know what's the SADDEST part..they never got a happy ending. he will never remember those memories that made their love real, and they will continue to live a lie, and he will never feel love for his wife and child. their relationship became real when the truth was exposed, now that things will be going back to normal he will never have another chance to truly love his wife and child. It's like being forever cursed in not being able to feel how much his wife loves him. Which is what pains me the most. It's not fair. He will never be able to understand the emotions of his family, it wouldn't matter how much he tries because they would have to go through everything all over again for him to truly feel emotions.....😭😢😭😭😞💔 I don't know why people keep saying "at least they got a happy ending". 😟😥😭 P:S this is the best edit for "Flower of Evil" so far. I keep watching it in repeat because I just can't let go of this series I just can't say bye to this couple. I have only watched this series once but my first experience was so good and extreme that I wouldn't dare to watch it again and ruin the experience. I just can bring myself to watch them again go through all that pain and injustice, It's. Just. Too. Hard😔

This just shows that a person who was labeled as a sociopath and a psycopath was better than those monsters who hurt him again and again. That man he lived with, wanted to kill him and steal his money. The villagers continuosly hurt him. The village head used him to get his fathers money. So this is how the world is. There are monsters within everyone.

What format do the files have that you tried to put into sony vegas? Because I had the same problem with most kdramas I've downloaded being in a Video Format that Sony Vegas can't open. 😅 For that I used a program called 'Any Video Converter' and changed the format to MP4 & then it worked. ☺💜

Yeah he just didnt understand what he was feeling because of his Trauma & everyone kept telling him since childhood he had Antisocial Personality Disorder so he ended up believing it himself and couldnt define what he was feeling + as a trauma response probably also suppressed certain emotions.
