The guy wore out his arm for the game. He deserves any and all accolades.

He wore his arm out for work. I know plenty of guys doing construction that blow out their knees or their backs and return to work because they need a job. I don't think Brian had two surgeries and returned strictly for love of the game

As a DieHard Dodger fan since I was born( my dad worked for them when I was born in 1994) The games SF and LA have are always dope to watch. Always having the cities on edge. As for the fans that do stupid shit at games are the ones that ruin it for everyone making it seem hostile.

As someone who is a die hard Giants fan (raised in Orange and Black) and now works at AT&T ballpark, I totally agree. It's the fans who always take things too far and makes a happy, fun environment into a place where you have to watch your back during these gametimes.

SickassNikes1 I'm on the Giants end of the rivalry, and I agree. It is the best rivalry in baseball. It goes back to the 19th century, which Red Sox/Yankees can't say. It's also very even over the history of the rivalry, which isn't true for Sox/Yankees OR Cubs/Cardinals. I hate the Dodgers with every fiber of my being - but I also love them, because I want them to be exactly what they are...in Los Angeles with a long history of success. Yankee and Cardinal fans get a rivalry where they dominate and talk down to their most hated opponent. Cubs and Red Sox fans have to embrace the role of angry underdogs against the evil empires that they oppose. But Giants/Dodgers is a match of equals. It's the best rivalry in baseball, and maybe the best in American sports.
@DrunkenSlob5 жыл бұрын
whydorset I agree with your whole post but the last part about both being equals is the best. Right now the Giants have the edge in titles but both teams have had their dominant time periods. The Giants from 1903 to 1954 were the ones winning titles and then from 1955-1988 the Dodgers were the ones winning theirs. Both teams have had long droughts and in this current decade the Giants have won 3 and the Dodgers have had a wild struggle to win just one, its the classic Dodgers Giants story and when the Dodgers finally win one again the cycle will be complete again

best rivalry in US sports. Lakers-Celtics, Yankees-Red Sox are both actually one-sided.

The real question is.... What clothing store was Scully shopping at where someone that looks like Brian Wilson was also shopping?
@deneng025910 жыл бұрын
He had a couple of good seasons with the Giants. Best of luck to him. Getting paid super bucks now.

I respect Vin Scully but why does he say “despite a 20-20 record” 0:46 As if win loss record is really a marker for a relief pitcher, idrk
@Feanor0264 жыл бұрын
The win don't matter but 20 L still means he let the other team scored the go-ahead run 20 times at least sometimes not in a save situation I'm sure, so it has to mean something. Just my opinion.

Dodgers and giants fans cheering together... This is weird lol
@cajayson830111 жыл бұрын
As I was limited in my reply, here's more...from what I also read, Arizona's management asked the Dodgers not to celebrate after they proceeded to the locker room (that's likely the case. It sounds more plausible that way) so their ground crew could clean up. Based upon the footage I saw, the Dodgers celebrated in the pool right away. Perhaps I'm wrong? I was wrong in 1989 Furthermore, the pool stunt and the fan attacks have zip to do with my comment (the final portion being a mere footnote)
@cajayson830111 жыл бұрын
Funny, you call me ignorant while completely writing such tripe. First of all, the fan's story seems to indicate that he acted in self defense (if he didn't, shame on him and I'd never defend it). Second, our security team didn't place that fan in a position of being attacked, period, unlike in L.A. with STow I don't care what the Dodgers were told. They could have celebrated with CLASS. They did NOT. It's irrelevant when they jumped into the pool. It was tacky, end of discussion.

He wanted way more than he was worth! He'd had TWO Tommy John's surgeries, and had only pitched in 2 games in the entire 2012 season. He chose the Dodgers out of spite.

That's what happens when you go from class (Giants) to classless (Dodgers)...all evident by the Dodgers' little immature pool stunt

He was on the Dodgers - which is bad enough. Guys who go from the Giants to the Dodgers get it worse. When it comes to team reunions, he'll get cheered, but as long as he's wearing that blue, he's gonna get boos.
