Kitty timestamps: 7:13 Resting catto 7:36 ~ some scritches and head patting for Avril And that's one more reason housekeeping was hard decades (and centuries) ago. Ironing clothes meant smoking your hand. Thanks for the video! Awesome work as always! May God bless you!

For such few parts to repair, your workmanship is excellent. This has been one of the most enjoyable restorations to date. Nice that you restored the handle as opposed to crafting a new one. I am a woodworker (as well).
@Tranzisto2 жыл бұрын
The thing that I really like about this channel is every restoration actually feels like a restoration that preserves a feeling of an old object, with imperfections like pitting on metal, weird old texturing on wood etc. That's not to say channels like my mechanics are not impressive, with that guy I am blown away in every video by the fact he turns an old thing into something that looks like it's brand new. It's just that I prefer it when some quality of "vintageness" is preserved, like with this heater - some amazing work has been done here and it is obviously perfectly functional, but it looks like an antique piece worthy of being exhibited in a museum, not like something that came off a conveyor belt last monday.
@Cora.T2 жыл бұрын
One thing I "dislike" about my mechanics is the use of the mirror finish, I understand why he does it and it's absolutely a show of brilliant craftsmanship. But it makes the metal look a bit like plastic sometimes

I always really like when they deep fry the metal. It gives me joy.

Lovely work. I think my seamstress wife would prefer a slight bevel or rounding on the plate circumference to get rid of that slightly rough edge so it doesn’t snag fine fabrics. We love old irons, too!

Yet another beautifully done restoration. It turned out amazing. It must be very rewarding to bring these relics back to life. I am a wood carver, and when I have finished with a piece I have carved, it brings me great satisfaction. Thanks for taking us through the process. ♥️🙏🏼♥️

Came out really well. I do wish that you would have sanded the ironing part to maybe 2000 grit so it was almost polished. Most iron faces are polished. Makes for smooth ironing.

I won't lie, seeing that extra hand threw me for a second. One of those, something isn't quite right, moments! 🙃 Between being at 888k subs and the kitty's guest appearance, notice my name and pic, I couldn't help but sub. Nicely done, too. I like that you didn't "restore" the handle, opting for a light sanding and staining. If it's old, keep it old, is my preference.

I truly enjoy watching this channel. I subscribed after watching your first video and patiently wait for new ones. Of all I've seen here, the wheelbarrow restorations are my favorite so far. I like that you reuse what you can. It reminds me of a saying that came from people that lived through hard times. They said "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without."

When using this iron on delicate, thin clothes, you can use a pillow case as a barrier. You put the extra cloth on top of the thin cloth your afraid will burn, then the cloth won't burn.
