You hit the nail on the head with this one! I used to be so in love with my ex, believing that I did him wrong because I didn’t stay with him. In reality he never came to my games, never supported me, never knew what I accomplished, how that hurt me. He was ALWAYS focused on himself & what I didn’t do for him or what I did to him. To this day, he’s running around the mountains searching for HIS happiness. No leadership or accountability whatsoever. I had to forgive myself for believing that was the man for me.

Well, this man has some intelligence, but when he starts teaching that men rank higher than women in marriage for the sake of "flow" or because the bible says so. I drop out. Women have come too far and have worked hard to be automatically put in a lower position than her partner as soon as she says "I do". Just be respectful to each other. Equal partnership. Were you two married? God allows separation for sometime in some situations, but within that separation period we're supposed to be praying for deliverance for our spouse and remaining faithful to the marriage. Divorce and remarriage against a living spouse is not the will of God unless there was a case of someone commiting adultery. God encourages forgiveness and restoration, especially when children are involved within that marriage.

"Love does not sustain a marriage, marriage sustains love." I'm not even married nor am I in a relationship, but this sentence really changed my perspective about what a marriage is and what it can be if two people persist in their commitment to be married and/or in a relationship. God is love though. you saying he aint enough ? stop soaking up things that conflict with who God is .... .. the whole reason why mankind fell was because they stepped away from God . he is the only one that does hold stuff together. its a matter of people trusting in love (which is Jesus himself) to do what he does. most people look to themselves which is how you end up with hard marriages and hard singleness like mentioned here. let love hold it together , if it doesnt hold its no love in it, because love never fails . @@Sassymaria77 I don't think you fully grasped what he meant when he said that "marriage sustains love". The concept of love within the relationship is NOT the problem, it's the COMMITMENT to keeping that love alive. And having that commitment is the key to sustaining your relationship/marriage with your significant other. This quote was never about doubting God's love or what He can do to sustain a marriage, this is about what YOU can do to keep your marriage alive. Because again, God can do ANYTHING, but He also won't force you to do things you don't want to do. That's the essence of this quote.

If they are to be the head of the marriage - the leader - it would make sense that they also have most of the responsibility for the success or failure of the marriage. Men mature slow, but here's the difference. When they finally get it together, they will go and get a woman 10 years younger and be set to go. Women on the other hand, many have been mature from the start, waiting, and end up getting passed over. That's why so many women just surrender and grab a hold to any man that comes along hoping that he'll mature along the way while at the same time he's locked in. It's the gamble we've all taken.

In all honesty, I've never liked how, as a society, we expect men to be leaders and providers, but we do a terrible job of preparing boys to be so. I dont think girls inherently mature faster, they are just held to a higher moral standard from childhood than boys are so they are pushed to mature quicker (and in all honesty, many aren't really mature...they just know how to act in a way that won't attract punishment. Those two aren't the same thing). Society (particularly Western and Westernized societies, from what I've seen) just sucks at raising boys.

@Nunya-bp5sw I don't think a woman always wants to be led by a man either, especially when they have the title of leader, over her, while she's supposed to submit. That's pretty toxic to me. Well it's due to sin in the world. Not every boy grew up in wholesome household with a mother and a father. There are a lot of boys being raised within broken homes due to some uncontrollable circumstances like death of parents, divorce, incarceration, and abandonment. Some fathers are just toxic and terrible fathers. We have to get to the root of the problem, sin. We have to fix the things that are accessible to fix (marriages), if we want boys to become men by hold couples accountable to their marriages and treatment of their spouses. We also have to fight against the injustices that fathers face (being targeted and railroaded by the law and government). We also need to be honest about the majority within society not wanting to help raise fatherless children. This is why we preach about the Father to the fatherless, because He is the best example of masculinity for boys.

I agree with him. I've been single for a long time and I love it I remember a lady at my Church told me that she was praying for me to have a husband. I didn't like that. Maybe that's not what I want. Marriage is a responsibility that I'm not ready for. I had a guy tell me that dating was not his thing and when I told him that I wasn't ready for a relationship,. he got mad at me and stopped speaking to me and this is a Christian man. I was very insulted by his action toward me and this showed me that even if I was ready, he wasn't. I get it, nobody likes rejection but when a person is in their 50s, life should have taught you something about rejection and how to handle it.. I expect this type of behavior from an unsaved man. He hasn't apologized for his behavior toward me and God won't allow me to check him. This too, is a red flag. It shows a form of pride but underneath that pride is a form of fear. So I had to give the anger I had toward him to God. I still struggle with what he did but Im also thankful that I saw this early on. God saved me from unnecessary heart break. Not saying he's not a nice person but he's not the person for me.... I don't have children and Im not going to raise somebody else's child. Plus he has mother issues and there is nothing worse to deal with when a man has mother issues.... Its so sad. I like being friends with men but it seems that I have issues with trying to be friends with them because their flesh get in the way. So my choice is to stay single because I am content where I am....be blessed...

@@carolinpurayidom4570 I honestly believe that. That entire situation was weird. He asked me to go out for coffee and when I got to where we were meeting, I heard tell him this is not that.(God's way of saying no). I was cool with what God told me. I had a lot of things going on in my life at that time. God knows when we are ready. His reaction to me is what threw me off. I wasn't expecting that. Yet, I found out later that he went to our lay Pastor and asked him if he could date me but then he says to me that dating is not his thing. Ummm, ok. He was previously married and was married for many years. I asked him how long he was divorced and his answer was, God is still working on me. I didn't ask him that but some time later he told the entire Bible study group how long he'd been divorced. Ummm, ok. Divorce is a hurtful thing to go through. When two people marry, they are joined together to make one flesh and a divorce tears that apart. That's why divorce hurts so much. It like being spiritually torn apart. The entire situation hurt my feelings but the Scripture says, the blessings of the Lord makes one rich and He adds no sorrow to it. We weren't in a relationship but yet he acted in a very selfish and self-centered manner. One Sunday I was at Church and he saw a ring on my ring finger on my left hand. When he saw it, he told me congratulations. I said what are you talking about and he pointed to my finger. I told him that I'm not married and if I was, I would tell everyone about it. My thought was, why are you concerned about me being married and even if I was, that's none of his business. Like I said, I forgave him but he mishandled me. I'm almost 60 yrs old. I don't have time for that. I was married years ago(my own doing) and it took God years to grow me to where I am today. I am too old to be making mistakes like that. A relationship has to do with our souls and we can't allow just anything or anyone to enter just because we get lonely out we want to have sex. Thank you for saying that. I wasn't looking and I don't look. To be honest, I believe that it was a distraction. I know when the enemy is trying to come for me. When I see him, it difficult for him to talk to me and the reason why it's difficult because he knows what took place. Regardless, he is still my brother in Christ. I'm not mad at him but I'm wise when I'm around him. I've been saved for over 30 yrs. I won't make time for foolishness.....I chose my hard and I love it....

You spilt the tea all over the Tube. Thanks for all the input, I agree with everything you said. As a single woman I came to realize and accept that not everyone is meant to be in a relationship, no matter what my desires are, I am open to whatever God pleases for me, relationship or not, it's whatever, what counts is my journey in becoming the woman God wants me to be. Wisdom over desire. I ain't sayin that I am not allowed to wish for things but I must stay vigilant and not force what doesn't seem to be right and wise for me at all costs, and that's valid for every aspect in my life, not just relationship. God got me, and that should always be enough, no matter what

There are things I know I’ve needed to let go of. I viewed you so differently for a while after that while stupid drama over BET, and to hear you say such spiritually matured, God-inspired wisdom made me realize how much I have been hung up on not letting go of the boy in me. It’s going to be hard, but thank you for this push. Gonna talk with my wife about my new mission in the morning.

Im 36 and just now finding my wife. Getting married this year and I was single for years before that. My lady and I are long distance. But that will change soon. Unfortunately for the longest time women in the Church would set the standards so high where they never end up even trying because they are " wating for this perfect man " thats doesnt exist. Im thankful my lady never made excuses. She realized im not perfect and she isnt either. We are both growing too.

Thank you for posting this, Lecrae!! Biggest red flags for me are impatientnce, moving fast, no respect for my boundaries, being a hypocrite (not actually being saved and or being led by Jesus but pretending to be), not gentle, not a good leader, proud, bad temper, big ego, not good hygiene, lustful and deceptive (lying about who they really are). Also, not having a job. I am single and i long to be with the right man for me but i know for now its best to stay single and serve God instead of wasting my time trying to look for the right one. I know am not ready for a relationship like that so i stay on with God and keep praying for healing not necessarily to be ready for the right one but to be able to serve God better and be happier.

This issue has much to do with society minimizing the importance of father figures and male role models. Boys are falling behind in reading, writing, mental health, etc. Very few people advocate for men without suggesting that men are the primary problem. The school system is biased against boys and very few teachers are male. This has a huge ripple effect- but it’s politically incorrect to advocate for boys because they are seen as “patriarchal”. As a man, I have noticed a lot of anti-male sentiments in the media. This might surprise some, but boys are behind girls in nearly every metric. And yes, this is a systemic issue. When male issues aren’t taken seriously, they are more susceptible to being radicalized. IMHO, this has led to the rise in the red pill communities (the bad ones) and MGTOW groups. Ironically, this ends up hurting women and children. As long as advocating for boys is seen as misogyny, we won’t move forward- and much of the issues you mentioned will not be resolved. 😢 When good men abandon boys, bad men fill the void.
@AnaMC1
@AnaMC1 2 ай бұрын
The school system was created by men for boys. So no, the school system wasn’t bias towards women. Women were just given the same opportunity and that’s all it took for girls to get ahead. Not surprising for us women. We already knew of our intelligence. But the problem has always been the burden of childbearing. That’s our kryptonite. Ruins our focus and our future. Specially if you wanna be a good mother. But guys have the advantage in the physical strength, which apparently grants you the power to overthrow those who are weaker than you. That’s why idiotic guys demand respect. Just because they are men. Not sure why they expect it from women but not their male friends. Hypocrites.

What came first men abandoning families. Teaching boys that the only feelings they can show is anger. That being the tough guy is more valuable than an education. This was a patriarchy society came first. Could taking advantage of the male leadership played the biggest role in flipping things upside down. Now men are claiming victim. Men can change things around with men being honest and teaching each other and holding each other accountable. That's why post like this is important. Now these females are a whole other mess I could speak on so they don't get a pass. But everything has a start, a root.
