i keep sitting into my hip and when i continue the step in the same direction it pops. could it be because i’m focusing too much on bringing my hips forward taking the first step? idk if this makes sense lmao

I've been having the same problem forever. I couldn't figure out why my bachata looked so off and different from other people. It's because the hip needs to go in the opposite direction of the foot stepping. I've been practicing it over and over. It feels awkward at first, but I'm so excited that I figured out why my bachata looked wrong. 😅

Push your hip to the side (in the direction your stepping! 👍 it can be slightly forward but not noticeably 😀 95% side 5% forward if that makes sense 🎉

As a Turkish woman who knows belly dancing, these movements to me are so natural that I don't even understand how one needs instructions for them. :) I guess we are born and start rolling our hips. 😂 I can't explain it any other way.
