Adams wrote Window Of Hope after reading a newspaper article about a teenage girl who had leukemia. The young cancer patient used to draw pictures of what was going on outside her hospital window. One was of a tree with few leaves in winter. The nurses called the picture, "The Window of Hope." When Oleta read this she was inspired to write the song. Years later she met the young girl's parents at a convention. Unfortunately, she died, but her parents were so appreciative of the song.

O-M-GOSH,, I This video is so dynamic, and so emotionally powerful it simply overwhelmed me. I always held Oleta Adams right at the top of my favorite singers,, right there next to Randy Crawford! These two songs are some of the very, very BEST compositions, and not simple melodies to sing two. African Americans are absolutely the world's MOST TALENTED PEOPLE!!! FACT!!! Their vocal ranges and timbre are absolutely UNIQUE~!~ There's only a handful of white singers that can be compared with all the hundreds of African Americans and Randy Crawford, and Oleta Adams are only two!!! The best tonality, vibrato, and pitch control!!! Amazing~!~!~!~

Also look at how she indulge and take pleasure in other artists at 03:38 mark, it's like she is having an arousal on something beautiful. Again just wow! P.S. She is really an instrumetalist who kwows tempo, look how she walks back the stage at 11:08 to 11:13 mark, in line with metronome if you know what i am saying...
