Поддать газу и, практически, перелететь через сложный участок. Да, это страшно. Да, это сложно. Но иначе машина застрянет и тогда будет очень грустно. Нива пройдёт везде. What is rational and what not depends a lot about whatfor you would use the vehicle. What you say about that these vehicles never go to off road, that is simply wrong. Around the world, Land Cruiser for example is a very popular off road vehicle. It's not only about going to certain place, it's also about reliability and maintainability. Why the simple ladder frame and live axle structure has held its position for long in true 4x4's is that it's a structure that is simple and strong. It can stand a lot of hard use, easy to repair, and easy to modify the vehicle to fit the actual use. In my opinion, it is more rational to have a proper tool, than a cheap tool that you have to change 15 times in the time you change the proper tool once. Much better for the environment would be to build proper vehicles made to last. But a well made product is not usually cheap.

The uses of 4x4's vary very much and there is a large market for aftermarket parts for 4x4's. Usually a vehicle for off road driving, is not ready from the factory, instead you need extra equipment for the conditions where you would drive the vehicle. And when driving on sand, the tire pressure have to be lowered.

Lada is hands down best off-roader of the above. The fact that you can't negotiate terrain vs ground clearance is not vehicle's fault. Duster is still the best for the money as a daily driver since Lada sucks on road. Prado is Toyota and it says all. G-wagon is a boulevard cruiser. Too heavy and too expensive for off-roading.

Я один заметил что штатную ниву загнали на вывешивание а остальных гоняли по лайтовому песочку...да и шины на ниве полное г стояли. Почему гель и дустер не прошли туже кочку что нива ;) Водятлу на ниве можно дать квадроцикл, он и его посадит там где я на нивахе проеду :) Я езжу на кваде и на ниве(охоты и рыбалки), застревал чтобы лебедить только на кваде, опыт в говнах не пропьешь.

If you only watching and don't understand what they say. They actually praised the Niva. For it's offroad capability, drive system and price of course. Also desin is very modern after all these years. Only downside they mentioned that after 40 years of production of this car, producers didn't change and modernize almost nothing. Which is a pitty.

@@jwserge Good question mate. The bald headed dude that drives it says, he is born that very year that they lanched Niva for first time. Yes, he mentioned there are few things were added during the years. Like direct injection, ABS, stronger clutch and some minor features. But that's all. For 40 years you simply should not produce a car with the same and only engine and gearbox, suspension, same easy rust bodywork, same shitty interior with dashbord and its features that looks like from 80'. As he says. It was huge success at the time. Even way ahead forward west automobile industry in offroad models. It was true world first SUV vehicle. Lada for city and for offroad. But not today. If someone produce a car with capabilities like this, they should modernize every 3 or 5 years. That's why potencial customer in that price range for "offroad" vehicle today choose shitbox Duster over Niva.

Here in brazil, the Duster engine is stronger than the european version (the european version was modified to produce less carbon, be more friendly to the environment.), here, there was no such modification. It's also sold by renault. it's amazing. With enough power to face our insane hills around here.

Problems of Niva are low quality of parts. They broke often. And of course engine and vibrations. They can not do new Lada 4x4 ( Niva ) now because Chevrolet-Niva must to be sold too. The competition inside the plant is not possible in now economic situation , but I think it is very usefull. So they need to develop Lada 4x4 ( Niva ) as much as the can, and then, having this experience produce new car-bomb. But the price of this car will be twice higher.

Ano, auto nemá klasickou uzáverku....Ale stačí si přečíst návod k obsluze vozu a člověk se tam dozví, že když vypne protiprokluz, tak se aktivuje něco jako EDS a v případě prokluzu nezatíženého kola,se síla přenese na stojící zatížené kolo.. Na mém Dustru to funguje..

+Béla Balog well, that's the idea. It won some contests versus different all terrain vehicles and it suddenly went into bankruptcy. I am Romanian myself and I didn't believe it was such a good car until I rode in one in the mountains. Besides the lack of Land Rover comfort and hundreds of horse power it is a truly very capable car.

Around 4:30 he said something about Differentials I think. And I believe the Niva has diff-locks, but he didn't use them it seems. Does anybody here know what he said and why he didn't use them? Good video. If somebody could translate that would be fantastic :D

I didn't understand it well because I am Polish, but he said something that with basic drive you are going to stand with one wheel rotating only, thus if you don't have a differential for rear axle installed you need a strong man companion for off road, just to push the car.

At first, he didnt have diff lock. Then it was already stuck on belly, so even diff cant help. But he mentions, that Lada is great without those side strips
