She was more than big new thing. Four numbers ones of a debut record, not even Mj did that. She did what Britney did in early late 90 early 2000s. Took over the world and set the tone for pop culture for the next decade. Pop/edm/dance/house the David guettas, Calvin Harris's, pitbull,jlo, Avicii, all the DJs and pop artists that went into avant garde styles and experiented. She was it.

@Drewtazy Shock and pushing boundaries isn't so easy for most entertainers. Some are just crude when they try, it is difficult to do it and make people want to know more about you. as with Madonna and Lady Gaga. Most just follow their agents and producers instructions, but these women are the real deal, and won't compromise, so you feel them when they perform.
