An important anouncement for those who follow my channel. This last week was the only free time I had in some time, I was planning to finish the JWT range video but some were asking for the ASIB vocal range video and sadly no other youtubers seemed interested in doing it, so I decided to do it. Sadly because of this the JWT video is going to be delayed further. This is also my first studio vocal range video, I honestly prefer to notewatch live vocals, but I tried my best. I did the video in a real hurry so, there's a chance of the video having some mistakes (last time I checked I mixed some clips from "Is that alright" with "I'll Never Love Again", but those were corrected). But whatever, feel free to share your opinion in the comments!

Another observation. La vie en rose wasn't notewatched because Gaga already sang this song a bilion of times. The notes are the same of the C2C Vocal Range Video/Early Joanne Era Video.

Haha, funny that it's your first studio range video because all of these vocals are actually LIVE, even for the soundtrack! Gaga actually sang these in the film whenever they appeared.

A Chamaleon, such a healthy voice, so warm, technique on point, acting on point. And that head voice to me is heaven, I think that I can't compare her to any singer, not in terms of quality but because of her timbre and richness. Thanks for this video, I cringe when there are no updated videos of her register cause people complain of things I know she has, and finally she has it all.

Her Eb3 i think more a stylistic purposes to be airy, her D3 in parking lot is too airy. Her highest still on D5 but for mezzo it's already good. Her upper register in this soundtrack mostly sounds like a falsetto to me.

a true alto would sing a D3 like it's nothing, it's part of her chest voice, a low Mezzo it's E3 and a high Mezzo it's F3. A Soprano's lowest, clearest note is typically G3

From a vocal range perspective, I feel like she stuck too close to her comfort zone here-way too many B4s, C5s, and D5s. I would’ve liked to hear some F5s, G5’s, and maybe even an A5.
@OliverHeikkinen6 жыл бұрын
AJRA Lol why. This is the area where she shines. She's not a lyric soprano. Singing isn't just about straining above E5
@strandedtraveller10386 жыл бұрын
In the context of the movie (and its soundtrack), it's better for her to stay in where she shines best to deliver that balance between power and passion. I think she sounds much more pleasant belting these majestic mid high notes compared to the shrill, thin upper belts over-glorified by young pop sopranos today. In the words of an Entertainment Weekly writer in regards to Gaga's singing - "there's an immense emotional intelligence behind the way she uses her voice - almost never does she overwhelm a song with her vocal ability, recognizing instead that artistry is to be found in nuance rather than lung power".
@ArtistsCry136 жыл бұрын
Goli Yeah, I know it’s where she shines, but the range and delivery gets too same-y after awhile here. And just because she’s a Mezzo doesn’t mean she can’t sing super high. It just depends on practice and good technique. Sopranos have it EASIER up there, but Mezzos can still do it. If a Tenor can belt up to Bb5, then Gaga can certainly get up there too. If you want an example of a Mezzo that can belt super high (in her prime), look up Nina Hagen. Her music may not be to everyone’s taste but her vocals are beyond incredible and from a technical perspective she was significantly better than a lot of the popularly acknowledged “greats”. She could belt up to a SUSTAINED Eb6. Also a B5 with vibrato! Oh yeah, and also, Gaga is/was a natural Soprano before she damaged her voice with cocaine and cigarettes prior to becoming famous. If she never damaged her voice ever, she’d likely still be a Soprano. 👌🏼
@ArtistsCry136 жыл бұрын
Walter Velvet Gregson Yeah, Gaga’s belts DO sound better than that of Ariana Grandé or Demi Lovato (both of whom Stefani can support higher than), but I just wish she pushed herself more to do something more challenging. I’d love to see her try to do an occasional G5, or reach for an A5 or Bb5. Maybe not REGULARLY, but at least on certain occasions. People keep saying Gaga has great technique, which I believe, but why after all these years does she still struggle with Eb5’s? It seems like she doesn’t practice consistently. Someone of Gaga’s experience should be able to belt out supported F5’s occasionally or perhaps even constantly. Look at JoJo: JoJo’s speaking voice is slightly deeper than Gaga’s and has a lower tessitura, but she can consistently support E5’s and the occasional F5 (Mad Love Tour with Stanaj video). Why can’t Gaga do that by now? I think Stefani has done that maybe only once (a phrased one on “Bang Bang”). I’d just like to see more range in the future. Fingers crossed for #LG6. 🤞🏼🙏🏼
@strandedtraveller10386 жыл бұрын
@@ArtistsCry13 I see. Gaga does have quite a handful of things to improve before she can reach the greatness of exemplary mainstream mezzos such as Barbra Streisand, Linda Ronstadt, Sarah McLachlan and of course Beyonce, though I do feel that having two octaves of strong, connected modal voice (D3-D5) is sufficient for Gaga to excel in her repertoire. Aside from using a lighter (headier) mix and practicing her riffs more, most of all I wish she would go higher in her head voice. Her A5s in "Applause" are amazing when done right, I have no idea what's stopping her from soaring into the 6th octave.
@pingapple1236 жыл бұрын
Both of her falsetto and high notes are not pleasing. She can be very popular but never a great vocalist.
