This totally made me cry. This is why I love Lady Gaga so much. She is a true artist and musician in all aspects of the work. There is no one like her. She is going to be around for a very long time. ARTPOP was such a success. It helped me celebrate life and changed my life in so many ways. She continues to inspire me every single day. I don't care about album sales. I still listen to ARTPOP every single day. All of her music is timeless. People will one day respect ARTPOP because it did change so many lives.

I'll stick by lady gaga any day. One of the main reasons I came to love her in the first place was because of the versatility of her music. I have loved everything single album and mini album, not because it had a single quality of gaga-ness to it, but because each album was a unique reflection of Gaga's many qualities. And I suppose it helped that I've always loved jazz, since years before Gaga even debuted, so I have a deep appreciation for cheek to cheek. If just broke my heart to see Gaga in this interview.

Tony Bennett is also a straight up gentleman and would probably encourage any young person along their path to follow their passion. He also had a deep respect for Amy Winehouse and never got a chance to really reach her, so I believe that with Lady Gaga he wanted to make sure he did it right and be there for a young talented artist and make sure they go on a good path
@Natasha-nr4uw6 жыл бұрын
This was the crossroads between ARTPOP to Cheek To Cheek. Previous people who’ve worked with her sued her, her manager left her, the media scrutinized her career and singing Jazz reminded her what was important which was her talent.

There's something about Gaga's voice when she sings live that really connects with me. I don't really know how to explain it, but I feel like hearing her sing jazz or live acoustic performances like the Dope performance allows me to feel all her pain and emotions. This is why this album means so much to me and I'm glad it's making her happy, because her voice is really the only thing that gets me through hard times. I'll always love you, Gaga. Paws up!

I don't understand why people target ARTPOP about album sales, if you look at everyone's album sales in the past few years, you can see a general decrease in sales in the last year or two. People aren't buy albums as much as they used to and prefer to illegally download them and only Gaga gets criticized for album sales because the public chooses to illegally download music.
@kli589310 жыл бұрын
so true. rihannas last 3 albums, for example have sold not more than 3-4 million after a year. gaga sells 2.5 m in a half year and the media says she is over, just because she had 20 million and 8 million before.
@tonita8810 жыл бұрын
JLO's new album flopped but people are not so interested in her failure as much as they are with Gaga. People dubbed her the new queen of pop and with that title came a very high standard which she sadly did not meet. Although the album still sold well, people expected her to break records because that's what she's known for. Literally every pop star back in 2009 changed their styles, made crazy music videos and named their fan bases when Gaga did it. Remember at the VMA's where everyone dressed up crazy like anime cartoon characters, Gaga performed as a man in regular clothes. That shows how much of a game changer she is. I hope with this new influence from Tony Bennett, she gets her groove back.

I totally can relate to her. 100%. As a jazz singer I hear a lot of arguments about whether Lady Gaga can sing jazz. I dare any jazz singer to tell me that someone who loves this music doesn't deserve to sing it. I don't ever listen to her pop music, and as a jazz musician, I insist that she can sing jazz. And she's an excellent performer. Does she sing like Ella Fitzgerald? No. But why does that matter?
@cleatfeet10 жыл бұрын
you're totally right. you can't compare other people to the likes of Ella and others. Lady Gaga (by the way, I really think she should have used her real name on this album) has her own great vocals which also can't be rivaled. although, I do sort of compare her to someone like Diana Krall.

Very truthful interview. You can tell she went through A LOT. I am starting to put small steps in becoming a music artist and I damn sure want to be an independent one (knowing how difficult it will be). The point is that music is also a business, where, because of passion, you tend to easily give everything to people who maybe respond to their own business needs and, just simply, don't feel you as much as you might do with them. Anyway, she is already moving on; I hope she keeps this way, 'cause she totally deserves it!

I'm not easily impressed when it comes to new artists, but I can still remember the first time I watched Gaga live. In 2009, at the VMA's, her performance of Paparazzi made me a fan instantly. I remember I watched the show that night just to see her perform because I loved hearing Just dance & Poker Face play on the radio. Since then, Gaga has managed to hold my attention. She's the only ARTIST to do this. She's the most genuine artists in the business today & I'll support her for the rest of her career. It's not about the wigs and outfits for me anymore, I know she has talent. I'm not worried about Gaga, she'll be around for a long time.

I'm watching this now and I'm thinking to myself, she's a legend whether she knows it or not. It's not so much her choice in music as it is the energy and the vibrations she brings to whatever she is talking about or whatever it is she's doing. She's not some out of touch star, she's very connected and that will always be the one thing that stands out for me. It's amazing when someone in her arena of talent doesn't see that about her and tries to take that shine from her. She stands out alone. She is an inspiration, a true lover of music and art and she is a family-oriented, lovely person. She's the kind of gal you just want to be near and you know she's going to be there for you because she truly cares. What a love ♥
