Maybe the reason I love this song so much is that empowerment anthems tend to be generically written so that they're all-encompassing, but that compromises the emotion. Especially with the context of her life before she became famous, she avoids that disconnect, and it's like she instantly makes you want to root for her. That's how deep these lyrics are, and they're not even that cryptic or layered with meaning. Hearing the song, you just know she's coming from a genuine place, that she knows what it feels like to be alone with your vision of the future, having to fight through all of society to make that vision real. She's just so down to earth and I love her.

It's almost impossible to pick a favorite track on this album because they're all so amazing, so catchy and so well written but this particular song has "Nr. 1 CLUB HIT" written all over it! I love the mid/late 90's piano house vibe and how perfect Gaga's vocals match this sound. Here's hoping "Free Woman" will be a future single.

This is the first song to make me cry right on the spot...I felt every lyric. I don’t like to cry. Reminded me that I’m good the way I am, got out all the bottled emotions and insecurities. This song made me cry, got rid of doubts, reassured me of my being. I’m a better woman through it. THANK YOU GAGA, BIG FAN SINCE I WAS 10 and now I’m 21. You’ll always have a special place in my heart and childhood. You made me feel it was alright to be weird and different!💖💖xoxo
