my impression of Lady Gaga is that she came up through the ranks, so to speak, performing and writing music, tuning her act. She WAS promoting herself as Lady Gaga even when she looked like this; check out her Vintage youtube videos. Now ask yourself, if someone as creative as her didn't have money, how would she have the supplies to create the visions she had in her mind? I think what you don't understand is that Lady Gaga is NOT just a MUSICIAN, she is an ARTIST. She has visions for clothing, colors on stage, and performance art. The person who she is today can captivate ALL those aspects. Now she has the resources.

She has a team, and a big record company behind her, but the whole on-going conceptualization is hers. You may think she's a totally different person now, but I see a lot of 'Stefani' in today's Gaga, and a lot of "Gaga" in yesterday's Stefani. It was just a growth of character through time, a self-discovery process, a development of a full-blown artist.

I think by watching this you can tell she was already possessed with music. She can sing and write, she's charismatic, and you WANT to watch her perform- you can't take your eyes off of her. Which is why she is Lady Gaga and the other million hopefuls are not.
