I love the progression of the song in the beginning it starts off as a slow ballad and then towards the end it turns into her screaming “NIGHT” it's so beautiful 🤯🤩
@readstoomuch20703 жыл бұрын
Right?? In the beginning it sounds echoey and like she's by herself in a dark hole and like the church bells are her only friend but as the song progresses it's like she's slowly but surely climbing out and she starts getting louder and more confident and more instruments and sounds are introduced and then it turns into a sick dance track with her confidently yelling how she's gonna change her life and marry the night because she's not scared and alone anymore. Ugh, this song got me through so much!

I’m straight. I remember being so depressed on my way home riding a bus and this was playing. I already planned how I was gonna kill myself, and it should be through firing a bullet to my head. While on the bus, the chorus came thru “I’m gonna marry the night, I am not gonna cry anymore.” And that gave me power I couldn’t explain.... I became so courageous that night. I didn’t know that it was one of Gaga’s song cause the singer on the radio was a guy meaning he was just covering the song. I am thankful to Gaga cause she somehow helped me get thru all these.
@ariananichols78274 жыл бұрын
I love that in this comment section you started with "I'm straight". It really shows how much of an icon she has become for the lgbtq community. Like, people from all ends of the spectrum and even cis and straight are able to be empowered by this stuff. It's amazing to see someone make music with such a universal message of love that not a single person feels left behind. I don't think I've ever seen another artist be able to support everyone with their music. Also, I'm so proud of you for finding your strength! Keep fighting! It only gets better from here!❤️

I've been feeling really awful about the state of the world and feeling really hopeless about how the rest of my life might go. I was in a particularly dark place last night, not as dark as to hurt myself, but dark nonetheless. My sister asked if I wanted to drive for midnight chicken nuggets at McDonalds and on our way we blasted this song and sang as loud as we could. For me, this song is about persistence and strength. It comes first on the album, before the self-celebrating anthem of Born This Way, track 2, because this is the song that picks you up off the floor when the world is cruel. Picks you up so you can celebrate. I first listened to this album through in my first year of college. I had spent high school hiding the fact that I was gay from my parents and being bullied and mistreated at school and at home. When I finally went to college and could be openly gay, I figured out that I was not only gay, I was weird. I didn't have cool interests; I acted too feminine; I didn't fit in well with college kids, gay or otherwise. And I remember taking the bus back for my second semester and crying because I knew I would be spending every night alone in my room. Because I was facing the reality that no matter where I went, I would likely struggle to find friends, to find family and a sense of home. And on that bus ride, I remember listening to this album all the way through. And when I had basically no friends, this super successful woman who was just as weird as me had this song, Marry the Night, not about how it would get easier, but about how she summoned from herself a powerful strength and will to survive and continue against hardship. It's often mentioned that queer people and other oppressed people have a special strength to them that they've learned by overcoming a lot of crap. This is the album - particularly this song - that gives me that strength. That reminds me that I have the strength to get off the floor again and again and again. I'm glad to see it's done the same for a lot of other people in these comments. Love to everyone, and thank you Gaga.

When I was in high school, I used to get bullied. Because of that, I always buried my head into work, teachers didn't ask me to do the new lessons' homework but I did it anyways. I found joy in self-studying. And this song gave me courage and hard-working vibe to fight back everything. And now, I am an English teacher 🥳 I always wanted to be a ESL teacher, now I made it. 🤗

It is very isnpiring reading so many comments about how this song and the Born This Way album in general, saved so many other people from dark times. When i was younger and this album just came out, i wondered if anyone else felt changed after hearing it. I felt so much stronger and braver. Lady Gaga is still changing lives, including mine, today!

This is one of my favourite Lady Gaga's songs. It's an interesting coincidence: today is my birthday and I'm 20. This song and "Born this way" album was uploaded on KZbin exactly 10 years ago, when I was 10. I can't tell you how happy I am that I've started listening to Lady Gaga. She has really helped me when I was depressed, her songs have healed my soul. Lady Gaga has changed my life in a better way. She is unique, extremely kind and talented person. I hope that one day I'll be able to visit her concert and maybe even meet her because I really want to express all my gratitude to her. Nobody has ever helped me as much as Lady Gaga. Love you, Mother Monster❤️

The first night I heard this, I was feeling so low and everything seemed pointless to me. I remember going through all the album, feeling for the first time for months something so raw, and pure at the same time, I remember crying a lot, getting amazed by all the songs, traveling into an another world. It helped me a lot that time. It gave me strengh. Now, five years later, I still listen to BTW album everytime I feel low and it makes me want to fight and never give up. I honestly have nothing to say except fuck..she's incredible.

This song is a conglomerate of every epic-champion-Rocky Balboa-heroic-passion-montage channeling Whitney Houston's best vocals on LSD. Then processed through Lady Gaga's pop genius brain. Final product: one of the best workout songs ever.
