I love the progression of the song in the beginning it starts off as a slow ballad and then towards the end it turns into her screaming “NIGHT” it's so beautiful 🤯🤩
@readstoomuch20704 жыл бұрын
Right?? In the beginning it sounds echoey and like she's by herself in a dark hole and like the church bells are her only friend but as the song progresses it's like she's slowly but surely climbing out and she starts getting louder and more confident and more instruments and sounds are introduced and then it turns into a sick dance track with her confidently yelling how she's gonna change her life and marry the night because she's not scared and alone anymore. Ugh, this song got me through so much!

I know it doesn't happen in the music video, but I always picture Gaga standing on the top of her apartment building, but instead of blowing up the cars, she is looking up in a rainstorm. The lightning flashes, the wind blows her hair across her face, and although you can see she's been crying, a calm smile spreads as the rain washes over her. This is for me a way of "facing the storm" and saying: "I will get through this."

This song and "Born this way" album was uploaded on KZbin exactly 10 years ago, when I was 10. I can't tell you how happy I am that I've started listening to Lady Gaga. She has really helped me when I was depressed, her songs have healed my soul. Lady Gaga has changed my life in a better way. She is unique, extremely kind and talented person. I hope that one day I'll be able to visit her concert and maybe even meet her because I really want to express all my gratitude to her. Nobody has ever helped me as much as Lady Gaga. I've been feeling really awful about the state of the world and feeling really hopeless about how the rest of my life might go. I was in a particularly dark place last night, not as dark as to hurt myself, but dark nonetheless. My sister asked if I wanted to drive for midnight chicken nuggets at McDonalds and on our way we blasted this song and sang as loud as we could. For me, this song is about persistence and strength. It comes first on the album, before the self-celebrating anthem of Born This Way, track 2, because this is the song that picks you up off the floor when the world is cruel. Picks you up so you can celebrate. I first listened to this album through in my first year of college. I had spent high school hiding the fact that I was gay from my parents and being bullied and mistreated at school and at home. When I finally went to college and could be openly gay, I figured out that I was not only gay, I was weird. I didn't have cool interests; I acted too feminine; I didn't fit in well with college kids, gay or otherwise. And I remember taking the bus back for my second semester and crying because I knew I would be spending every night alone in my room. Because I was facing the reality that no matter where I went, I would likely struggle to find friends, to find family and a sense of home. And on that bus ride, I remember listening to this album all the way through. And when I had basically no friends, this super successful woman who was just as weird as me had this song, Marry the Night, not about how it would get easier, but about how she summoned from herself a powerful strength and will to survive and continue against hardship. It's often mentioned that queer people and other oppressed people have a special strength to them that they've learned by overcoming a lot of crap. This is the album - particularly this song - that gives me that strength. That reminds me that I have the strength to get off the floor again and again and again. I'm glad to see it's done the same for a lot of other people in these comments. Love to everyone, and thank you Gaga.

Same here. In September of 2011 I was struggling with so many personal problems, I thought my life was going to end, I couldn't see any way out. I was 34 and people my age were of opinion that LG was making dumb music aimed at party brats. I remembered being amazed at how ignorant people can be. BORN THIS WAY album saved me back then and it lifts me up today, 12 years later, going through dire straits again. I believe that this song and many others from this album somehow speak, or connect, to people feeling down and beaten, for whatever reason. Listening to this music is like metaphorical journey from darkness towards light. LG is a great and very unique artist. Take care & good luck Stephanie

I wish I could go back and feel what I felt when I first bought the cd and listened to the entire about in one go. I can only imagine the feelings and the journey her unbelievable talent and art gave me. I Will forever he a fan of this amazing woman she truly had changed my life in every way possible, despite people thinking I’m crazy, weird and obsessed. So glad that I am alive in the same era this woman 🥺 can’t wait for what is to come x

When I was in high school, I used to get bullied. Because of that, I always buried my head into work, teachers didn't ask me to do the new lessons' homework but I did it anyways. I found joy in self-studying. And this song gave me courage and hard-working vibe to fight back everything. And now, I am an English teacher 🥳 I always wanted to be a ESL teacher, now I made it. 🤗

The first night I heard this, I was feeling so low and everything seemed pointless to me. I remember going through all the album, feeling for the first time for months something so raw, and pure at the same time, I remember crying a lot, getting amazed by all the songs, traveling into an another world. It helped me a lot that time. It gave me strengh. Now, five years later, I still listen to BTW album everytime I feel low and it makes me want to fight and never give up. I honestly have nothing to say except fuck..she's incredible.

Mmm... probably. A case can be made, yep. 🤔 However, if I was banished to a desert island, boy I sure wouldn’t want to have to choose between the Fame/Monster and Artpop and BTW. I’d be one little whiny bitch... “Not fair! 😭”
