Honest to god, Gaga has such an amazing voice, she's one of my favourite female vocalists, her voice is so emotive and how she really performs the song with so much conviction to it. Just because Gaga is not making it to #1 on the charts doesn't mean she sucks. Being on the top charts is so overrated! So many good artists out there who are not even on the charts. At this point Gaga has been there done that and I'm sure she pretty much grew out of it. Why are people hating on this song? For one, it has a pretty clear vocal track; I can't hear any sort of digital manipulation with Gaga's voice. The lyrics are also pretty decent: "High like amphetamine/ Maybe you're just a dream/That's what it means to crush/Now that I'm wakin' up/ still feel the blow/But at least now I know". I like the AABB rhyme scheme and the message is simple: Gaga realized that her ex-boyfriend wasn't the one for her/he used her. I also like the whole 80's vibe going on with the song. The synths are great and not overused, and none of the production gets in the way of Gaga's singing. I wasn't a fan of Gaga's lead single "Applause" back in '13, but this is pretty solid.
