I went to artRave and she is just such an inspiration to me, many people compare her to other artists and say others are better. But to me she is the best, sure she can sing and she is pretty, but more importantly she was the one whose music i turned to when i felt beat down or harassed by others. She is a source of comfort for me, whenever i listen to her or see her I instantly feel like im in front of myself because I know it is easy for me to accept myself but it is difficult for others to accept me. Love you Gaga!

I'm from Madonna's generation and I don't want to compare her to Lady Gaga because I respect Madonna, i mean she's not that much worthy of admiration and I know I've always liked Cyndi Lauper much better in the 80's and 90's (so much more Talent) but I respect her as I respect everybody. And I don't deny she WAS the Queen of Pop, she had the title but that was it, a title. That being said, and as I see it, comparing Madonna to Lady Gaga it's very unfavorable for the FORMER queen of pop, because of the artistic differences between the two of them, which are really known...it's no secret Lady Gaga is a much better artist. I know Madonna says Gaga is a copy of her but she couldn't be more wrong about it, they're both very different and I say different not to say Gaga is superior in every aspect, how she sings much better with a highly superior voice and write her own songs, and play instruments, perform better on stage, act so much better in movies... all of these artistic talents Madonna lacks of. But let's just use the word "different" not to be cruel with Madonna because that's what Gaga teaches us all, to love, not hate, to be gentle, not to be cruel even when the others are cruel with us, like Madonna is with her. Like those stupid lyrics she wrote about Gaga (two steps behind) where she says how Gaga copies her and wants to be like her but never will be because she's always two steps behind her? well, that's what she thinks... Gaga is a million steps ahead of Madonna. But the main difference between the two are not the artistic talents, it's that Gaga has so much heart and soul in her, that's why her art is superior because it comes from the heart and soul of a better person, a more humble and thankful spirit, allways inspiring her fans to fallow their dreams because anyone can be like her, anyone can be on top of the world like she is right now, and if in 20 years from now there's a new queen of pop, Lady Gaga will be happy about it and celebrate it, instead of being envious and full of hate like Madonna is today about Gaga

i can see how you could feel that, because she is so popular, but I think gaga's heart is pure in the matter, and that the causes she fights for she truly believes in. Your probably right that her imagery overshadows some of the causes, but that is part of her artistry and who she is. There are pics of Monroe wearing the same dresses, making same poses as Harlow-its not just haircolor,its the whole style Marilyn copied. She did it because she adored Harlow, nothing wrong with it. Madonna styled herself as Marilyn or Dietrich for the same reason-because she adored them. Every fan is influenced by his idol, fans are buying clothes in Gaga or Madonna style etc, its natural.
