I disagree. She should take care of herself and not work herself into the ground. Vomiting on stage is not pleasant to see and could make others feel ill. She is already a queen due to her commitment to work but it’s not a bad thing to be committed to your health as well. We already love you Gaga, take a break.

Saddest part is that when I looked into fibromyalgia, I found out that bright, flashing lights and loud noise can cause migraines and vomiting, it’s possible that her own shows were what was causing it, before she got good help.

I have fibromyalgia and chronic migraine disease and they are both nervous system disorders and incredibly debilitating. I had fibromyalgia for a few years before developing the chronic migraines and I do not understand how Gaga even manages one performance, let alone all the things she does. It’s not just pain (I am on a long term and short term opioid painkillers, probably for life), it’s extreme exhaustion, weakness, numbness, inflammation, problems concentrating, memory problems, immune deficiency, every kind of pain imaginable, digestive issues, extreme sensitivity etc etc etc. Some people get pain from shower water hitting them (me) or wearing clothes. It takes forever to “recover” from injury and illness, or even just any exertion. So anytime you see Gaga doing a big performance, even if it’s short, like the VMA’s, she has to recover from that. Your entire nervous system is messed up and it is exacerbated by mental illness or any other illness. She is an absolute wonder to me. I’m so glad that she’s been open about her illnesses because fibromyalgia has been so misunderstood and under researched. She’s brought so much awareness. Maybe one day, we’ll actually have some sort of treatment that isn’t just putting bandages on all the myriad symptoms. I’m 32 and I live off of disability and spend most of my days in bed. Gaga is like this beacon of light. Someone who has suffered so much but still goes for her dreams. Still LIVES. I don’t think a lot of people really know how incredible she is.

She only began feeling the hip pain at the start of the 2013 leg. It took a turn for the worse by the Montreal show and she exacerbated it by that show which caused the tour to be cut short. But I see why things ended up the way they did. She overworked the fuck out of herself from 2008-2012. There were no breaks in between projects and tours. She pushed herself past the limits of what a normal human can handle and it caught up to her in February 2013. I think that moment was a major wakeup call that she needed to slow her workhorse nature down significantly to extend her life. Not saying that it could have killed her but it was a damn scary moment for sure.

Fun fact I heard: on her way to the first one the plane was having issues and needed to make an emergency landing. She prayed and once it landed she started crying. This was also the one where everyone accused her of lip syncing when in reality she wanted the backtrack because she was a bit sick. Poor girl. 💔 I’ll look for her exact words in a minute. Found it: This is from a book called Lady Gaga Just Dance by Helios Pheonix. I will only put what was spoken in quotes btw. It was a rough flight to Australia. The flight was twenty six hours anyway, and as is that weren’t bad enough, there was a problem with one of their planes. It had been a fairly uneventful flight until the captain lit up the “fasten seatbelts” sign, at which point Gaga knew something was up. “Ladies and gentlemen, please return to your seats,” said the announcement. “There’s no need to panic, but there’s something wrong with one of our engines. We will be on the ground in 5 minutes. Please fasten your seatbelts.” Gaga fastened her seatbelt and gripped onto the hand rests. “It was the longest fucking 5 minutes of my life.” she said later. “The rate of descent was super fast. It’s so crazy. I didn’t cry until we hit the ground. I held it in, I was talking to Jesus, then we hit the ground and I lost it”.
