The problem is she got on a whole lot of terrible record labels. Missy was focusing on her own career instead managing the people she signed on Goldmind. Jay-Z temporarily retired after she signed Roc-A-Fella. Def Jam wasn’t ready to produce an R&B/pop singer. Family Over Everything was a weak indie label. All of those records deals produced no albums, except Goldmind.
