Thank You so so much. I though that my gouldians were the only ones stell in a molt. Most of what I have are Yellow backs . Like 14 of them . 4 green backs . I don't feel so bad now. Thank You so much. Have a fantastic day

Do you breed your yellow back to yellow back or do breed a yellow back to the greenback for better genetics and stronger birds? Thanks

Really enjoy your videos and your aviaries are very nicely done. I am a newbie and have two pairs of LG's. There is a baby in one of the nests. How long before the babies leave the nest? Thank you.
@birdnerd Жыл бұрын
Usually they will leave the nest around 3 weeks after they hatch

Should Java finches ,owl finches and Gouldian finches need grit like zebra finches when breeding? Love your videos.
@Aurek22 Жыл бұрын
Mine have grit all year long, sometime they don’t touch it for weeks, I put some more in the cup and all of a sudden they like grit again haha

Where do you get your food from? Shipping is really adding up, looking for some suggestions please

Yes seed is becoming more expensive these days. I thankfully have a local mill that bring in the seed and mixes them for us. It may be of benefit to see if anyone locally can bring the seed in and sell it locally?

How long does a gouldian normally live in a domestic environment like this?
@birdnerd2 жыл бұрын
6-9 years in captivity is a good life span for a gouldian.

My gouldian babies from last June and July are almost finished molting. How long do I need to wait until I apply Scatt? I assume I need to wait until they are not stressed from the molt. How often do you clip their nails?
@birdnerd2 жыл бұрын
You could probably scatt them now. I only clip nails if needed it’s usually about once a year
