Sadly this really happens. I was a HR manager as well as office manager many years ago. I had a lady that that told me her child had pnuemonia. I was very worried for her child and told her not to worry, just take care of her child. I can't remember but I think on day 5 her exhusband called to speak with her. I told him she was with their sick child. He told me that he has had his child going on 2 weeks because she went out of town with a man. I was beyond mad because I was covering her shift which took time away from my child. I honestly did not have a problem firing her. There are some people that truly deserved being shown to the door.

If she would’ve said that she wanted time off without explanation because you don’t have to give one, would she have gotten the time off. People feel they need to lie to get time off and they don’t. It’s illegal for employers to ask why. If I need time off, I don’t have to explain why.

Good for her, she is always looking down on others. She don't try to get to know the people , she insults them and degrade them, then she will say I didn't know who you were. You have to treat all the same. Loyalty is the best medicine when you first get in contact with someone you don't know. Instead of having to say sorry for my actions.

She had already shown her true colors. She wasn’t sorry for her behavior, she was sorry she was caught. She did not learn her lesson, that behavior was ingrained in her from childhood just as the kind lady that was helping him was taught kindness from childhood.

I’m a wheelchair user, and I refer to myself as disabled. Being “a person with special needs”, is new to me in regard of physical disabilities. Here in the UK having special needs is more often used for people who have learning difficulties. But regardless, it I think it is a good thing that you are showing us a human beings. I personally do not mind which people use to describe us, as long as they do not mean us any harm.
