I work in the drive thru at McDonald's sometimes. When I do I'm amazed at what people have in their cupholders or on their dash just for everyone to see. Open containers, Crack pipes, needles. Weed is a minor offense so that don't really matter to most. It kills me seeing a parent with an open container and a kid in the back.

I actually started crying when that officer started having a therapy session with that woman and actually being empathetic towards her issues and trying to help her with motivation towards getting sober. I've had issues with police in the past from drug possession interactions, and I really think that had the officer who dealt with me during my meth OD was like that one instead of someone who just wanted to get me in trouble, I probably would have had a much easier time quitting. He is definitely a hero.

Exactly, they have to build their case and provide their own evidence, they're not just doing the tests for the fun of it, although I'm sure lots of cops do prolong it more than they need to

it's true that a lot of ballet dancers have a deviated gait called "out-toeing." i have a slight one from ballet training when i was younger and ankle instability (i can turn my left foot completely backwards.) however, the heel-to-toe is not a typical walking style for anyone and would only be slightly more difficult for someone with the ballerina gait.

It's actully true that if you do ballet from a young age your hips rotate outwards while you're growing and your feet permanently face outwards for the rest of your life. My aunt walked like that. That's a little ballet horror story for you.

The field sobriety tests actually mean a lot more than you think. I have had friends with alcohol issues who could blow a 0.08% BAC, not even realize they have alcohol in their system, and pass a field sobriety test even though them driving would be illegal. It happens to severe alcoholics in the morning a lot. By doing those tests, they are showing that the person isn't a functional alcoholic like in that teacher video. It can make the charges worse or more likely to stick, at least in some jurisdictions.

Lady, what the actual fu- Okay, I understand that everyone handles their post-traumatic stress disorder differently, god knows I do, but I've never heard someone else call it "PTSD mode" when they've been triggered. Maybe this is just how she handles it, but I'm typically too caught up in a flashback or too shut down via varying levels of dissociation to verbally state something like that to alert others to what's going on. If anybody else can shed some light on THAT particular statement, that'd be greatly appreciated.

i think she could be referring to the "fight, flight or freeze" in ur case u would freeze && go back mentally, perhaps when she's triggered she immediately goes to fight && she was prolly verbally saying that before in case they did start hurting her bc of resisting, even tho it is still an offense, it's an explanation on why she is reacting that way, I can only assume what she's talking Abt though (:

I hate that I'm so jaded from watching so many horrendous body cam videos and videos of people that shouldn't be police officers that when they come out of the hospital in the first video and the cop is talking to the woman about her alcoholism that I can't help but side eye it a bit and think that he's sounding like that to get her to open up about her drinking to make the charges stick better instead of just talking to her person to person. i dont have much patience for addicts because i have had nothing but bad experiences with them and been burned by these selfish idiots, i know they basically have an illness, but they still have choices, they can choose to go get help when they are sober and in a decent frame of mind, but they selfishly think of only themselves, and they end up hurting and even killing others. i have empathy and sympathy for the ones who want help and are trying, but there are plenty who do not try and will not try to do better, hell many are in full on denial and they think they do not have a problem. and they blame everyone else but themselves. btw daisy sour cream sucks, breakstones is best ! :-))

Here we go again with pig making broad assertions over something he has zero actual knowledge about. They are required by law to do sobriety tests if they suspect intoxicated driving as a way to obtain probable cause in order to be able to arrest you for their suspicion of intoxicated driving. It's not just because "they wanna get a kick out of it" Do they make people redo the test / do the test longer than necessary somtiems for shits and giggles? Yeah, now that's where you actually see it happening. But they don't do feild sobriety tests on people souley because they wanna see someone stumble around. It's all about legalities and being able to prove they were intoxicated without breaking any civil rights.
