By reading all the results in Westminster local election in the following year, the result would be CON 45, LAB 15 - from a majority of 4 before the election to a one of 30. So Porter’s plan was successful - in a way - but at what price? The Wikipedia page for the relevant election is completely empty, i had to relay into a PDF of results as a footnote in the aforementioned empty page.
