there are a few fan-made ones on youtube, even a live action one with VERY Gaga-esque costuming, and, if you're a fan of musical theatre, brit pop, &/or history, there's a suitably eerie and tragic animatic inspired by the musical "SIX" that sets the song in-line with IRL Bloody Mary, Mary I of England (though, from the lyrics of this song, the "Mary" in mind was likely one or both of the biblical ones ). but, like, as an aside DEFINITELY consider checking out performances on the youtube of "SIX" - the costuming is gorgeous and as varied as Gaga's own works, with each of the titular six queens' solos taking distinct turns in genre (just as Gaga herself often does with each album she creates).

When this album came out, everyone said they missed the Lady Gaga from The Fame era and The Fame Monster. Songs like this were seen as extremely weird and unlike any other pop music at the time like adele or Katy perry. Now it’s seen as classic and people embrace the quality and timelessness of it. I think in the early 2010s we were just over the heavy synth/electro pop songs that were big in the 2000s (think songs like Bulletproof - La Roux, hot and cold - Katy Perry, love lock down - Kanye, The way I are - Timberland and every Black Eyed Peas song) so this song didn’t get as much traction as poker face despite the fact that it was definitely worthy of praise then and now. In the 2010s people moved on to rappers like Drake, indie/alt rock like Ho Hey - Lumineers music that had very basic and mild instrumentals
As usual Gaga was ahead of her time with this song. It's finally getting the recognition it deserved years ago 😭❤️

This song is pretty sad in a romantic sense. It's basically singing about when you love somebody so much when they're gone, they become a part of you. She'll dance with hands above the air to prove that she's not hurt by him, but deep down she is burdened with grief and sorrow for his leave. Just like Marry Magdalene and Jesus.

+Andrew Lam She does not dance to prove that she is not hurt by him. She is rejoicing that he is in a better place. A place without prejudice, without crucifixion, without tears. She is deeply hurt because she knows he never wanted to leave her. At the same time he knows that he cannot change things by staying. Only when he is gone will she, and those who condemn their love, realize their truth. She keeps dancing to prove she is ready for their stones, to be sacrificed for her unending love for him.

I always imagined the music video to be like black and white and set in Rome. I imagine Gaga is sitting on a motorcycle with a guy whose face is a skull. She is wearing a red dress, which is the only colour shown in the video. Anyways, I imagine her and the guy to drive into the Vatican city and praying for forgiveness. There are also scenes of Gaga in a bathtub filled with blood and roses and monks dressed in black leather monk outfits singing the GAGA part.

A fool is one who says in his heart that there is no God... He says this in his heart; it is not his judgment but his imagination. He could not convince himself that there was no god, but he wished there was none, rejoicing with the fantasy that there might not be. He cannot be sure that there is no God, so he is willing to think that there is no God. He did not dare to say it out loud, lest he be refuted and thus escape from being deceived. He said this secretly and quietly in his heart, to suppress the protests of his conscience and make himself bold in the evil path. Since people don't want to acknowledge God or glorify God, they certainly don't want anyone to tell them how to live their lives. They selectively screen out God. Therefore, Tyndale said: "The word "without God" in the Bible does not refer to an incorrect but sincere view, but to an irresponsible and bold and provocative posture."

I just imagined her getting married in a gothic church, wearing all white… but then her fiancé says no to her and she gets angry and turns into a zumbi! She attacks her ex fiancé and eat him alive… there’s blood everywhere and people are creating havoc… then she gets out of the church, what a scarlet dress, dripping blood and with an horde of zumbis after her… they dance while in a moonlight… creepy trees around her and also some hands are sticking out of some tombstones nearby the church… and when we look to the sky, the moon is red and a bunch of bats are flying like crazy…

Yeah because Running up that Hill by Kate Bush is finally getting the proper recognition because of a popular show. This type of thing happens all the time with songs. There’s tons of people that know certain songs only because of shows. I probably wouldn’t have known Ray of Light from Madonna if it weren’t for Peter Griffin drinking Red Bull for the first time. Yes more people have now heard this song because of the show and I’m sure some made it part of their playlists but other than that this song isn’t a lost gem. It came out 12 years ago

I interpret this song as from the point of view of someone who loved/was in love with Jesus perhaps Mary Magdalene (Love is just a history that they may prove) perhaps the Virgin Mary, (the Michelangelo line which could refer to the famous sculpture Pietà) but most likely both women, who is trying to celebrate and be happy that Jesus died for our sins (dance, dance, dance with your hand, hands, hands above your head, head, head like Jesus said). But no matter how hard she tries she's still so sad and angry at God and Jesus that the person she loved and depended the most on had to die had and leave her, (forgive him before he's dead) but at the same time she hates herself for being angry at God because she knows that Jesus wouldn't want her to be angry at him but be thankful for his sacrifice. But how can she? She lost the person she loves most, but she know she wants her to be happy and celebrate her salvation. It's a horrible cycle. A tale of the process of grief told by excellent use of biblical metaphors. Defiantly one of Gaga's hidden gems
